I am 22 years old, and am currently in college working toward an English degree with a focus on Creative Writing. I have a passion for good storytelling, and this is driving me to become a Writer. Fantasy is one of my favorite genres, with sci-fi as a close second. I am both a fan of Star Wars and Star Trek (Heresy, I know). I love watching Anime, Comic book movies, and I am a bit of a casual video game junkie. I can come to just about love anything that has a good story, well developed characters, and a decent amount of drama, no matter the genre. I am usually friendly and polite, however, I am not necessarily the best in social situations. Asperger Syndrome runs in the family, and I do display some of its tendencies. This makes it harder for me to socialize as I do not necessarily pick up on the subtle social cues and body language that most people seem to understand instinctually. Despite this, you will find that I can be fun to game with, and am fairly open minded about things. When it comes to politics I tend to lean more towards American Libertarianism or Conservatism than anything else. (No, I did not vote for Trump. Honestly though, I probably would've considered it if I was proactive enough to get off my butt and get re-registered to vote.) But we arn't here to talk politics are we? Experience: I have been playing Tabletop games since I was 12 or so, and of this time, roughly half of it was spent being a GM. The first RPG I was introduced to was a heavily homebrewed crossover between D&D 3.5E and Wheel of Time D20. Most of my experience as a player and GM was in this system, but recently I have GMed a game of Pathfinder to some degree of success. I also have dabbled as a player in the following systems: D&D 4E and 5E (Only Briefly), L5R (Briefly), and Star Wars FFG (Decent amount of time). I have had an interest in Star Wars: Saga Edition for quite some time. I have owned the core rulebook since not long after it first came out, and owned the Revised D20 Core rulebook before that as well. However, despite this fact, and constant hours spent as a kid pouring over the books, I have never once played SWSE, neither as a player, or as a GM. So here it is, my first attempt at playing SWSE. GMing Style: I am generally fairly casual and laid back when it comes to gaming. For me, a good story and good roleplay trump mechanics. Roleplaying is a group storytelling medium, not a video game, and if the rules are bogging things down at times, I will not hesitate to use Rule Zero. Campaign wise, I prefer sandbox campaigns with some amount of storyline to them, and will customize the game according to my players. I tend to make a general plan for an adventure and then try to wing the details. I will try to have an equal mix of combat encounters, skill-based encounters, and roleplaying encounters... or at least encounters that could go either way. I am not against using riddles or puzzles either. I am not against using theatre of the mind if it proves to be more convenient for a session or encounter. I am willing to adapt to the needs of my players to a certain extent, but I will put my foot down if necessary. I tend to only use maps and grids in combat. I tend to target my games to last between 4-6 hours a piece. Availability: My schedule is uncertain at this point, but there is a fairly good chance that starting in April I will be available most weekday evenings... barring of course homework, a job, and/or school activities. Friday Evenings or Saturday Afternoons/Evenings are my preferred time slots. Time Zone: I am in the Mountain Standard time zone (MST/MDT)
