Import/Export Macros

Hello. So I play quite a bit of Pathfinder Society, and in that system it isn't a campaign. You play with different GM's in different Campaigns every-time. Every time I get on I have to log on 30-45 minutes early to program my macros. How hard would it be to have an import/export option for our macros? It would save me a lot of time each game and make people running on Roll20 (not my favorite VTT) much much less dreadful and would go a long way towards making it a pretty decent table top for me personally.

+1 I would love the ability to import/export and copy macros. Currently I have to copy the name of the macro paste it over and then copy the body of the macro. An option like this would be great. Along the same lines being able to copy characters in character journals would be great.

I am amazed this cant be done. It really is an essential feature. Both to be able to export macros from one character to another, or to export from roll20 to an xml file, so you can import to another campaign.
Using the API (requires a mentor subscription for the GM) we can read macro definitions and create new macros from definitions. I'm not sure how we would output, store and read the definitions though, i.e. how much access we get to the local filesystem. Anyone know? If I get some time at the weekend I might have a play and see what's possible. This would rely on the GM of each campaign having the import/export routines available though. I agree it would be a useful function to get built into the main Roll20 client, particularly for players. As GMs we can create new campaigns retaining the macros by copying from a previous campaign, but players have no easy way to set up favourite macros.
The easier way to it might be to have the macros attached to the users account. For instance, I as a player could input all the macros that I would need for all my characters and then when I join a game I just select the ones I will use with the particular character that I am running. That way, even if I am playing in a one time game, I've only ever had to input any macros once and neither I nor the GM ever have to be copying and pasting them.
Nice idea, Andrew. That would also solve the issue where a players' macros disappear if they are ever accidentally deleted from a campaign.
I agree. This would be a great feature. I recently played a game where the GM didn't have the table open until 5 min before the game. For the first half an hour I could only half-concentrate on the narrative as I frantically tried to get all my macros in.
I'd love this feature. I've been asked to join games at the last minute a few times; I end up missing half the introductory materials because I was setting up my macros.
