Hidden GM Modifier on Dice Rolls

I'd like to suggest GMs get the ability to add a hidden GM modifier to dice rolls. For example, you could enter the command: /roll 1d20(GM+5)(+3) Now, internally, the system would roll a d20, add 5, and display that as the base roll. So if the system rolled a 10 it would display: albert z. (GM):rolling d20+3 (15)+3 = 18 Essentially, there are a lot of situations where my players are on the brink of winning, but just need that one decent roll. I suppose it may seem to some as manufactured, but I'm often inclined to give them that moment instead of "no you miss, the party wipes". In this way, we could simulate the classic DM hidden dice rolling, but actually make the situation feel authentic. Added bonus, most of my players are sort-of casual, and won't know it exists in the first place.
