After looting the castle, the group found 581 gold and their choice of equipment but no healing potions. Lady Alerie and Lord Quarlton found some gold in the captain’s quarters, but lied and said it was only 200 gold. The whole group of them bribed their way onto the boat, the Bawdy Slave. The ship was obviously a slaver’s ship, with holds in the lowest deck. They met Captain Hargiss, First Mate Slath, and there was a Second Mate artificer/alchemist they met as well. They noticed the ship had pirates with light crossbows, a few with heavy crossbows, and all of the rest of the sailors seemed to be indentured and only had daggers. They went downstairs to the middle deck and talked with Alerie, Quarlton, and Rivwan about the situation, all agreeing they wanted to get away from Corrive. Helios talked to Alerie and Quarlton in Infernal, while Rivwan experimented and pointed out most of them spoke Draconic while the pirates did not. After watching Ughragog explore the main deck, Bardman went on a tour of the middle and lower deck with a heavy-crossbow carrying pirate. Bardman also noticed that Gillia and Reeta were cozying up to some of the indentured sailors. Ughragog convinced Yoli, who was now drinking heavily, to go to bed and she leaped off the barrel she was sitting on and face-planted on the floor. She just laid there until Ughragog picked her up and took her to her bed. After a time, the party plus Alerie and Quarlton were invited to meet with the captain, where he agreed to take them to Shevorth. They noticed Alerie didn’t seem happy about the idea, and she mentioned in Infernal her plans to off the captain, conveniently bribing the captain to let them stay in the guest quarters directly adjacent to his cabin. After the party found accommodations in the lower deck, and Bardman messaged Alerie to convince her not to initiate combat with the captain until everyone way better rested, to which she reluctantly agreed. The next day they were getting up and around, hanging about the middle deck when they heard a booming sound above deck. Bardman and Helios were already headed up to check out things and emerged to see Alerie fighting the captain while Quarlton began firing arrows at the sailors on deck. Helios went full phoenix form while Bardman assisted. Downstairs First Mate Slath and the pirates were confused, as was Nikon. On the second round, Alerie cast a thunder spell again, causing the captain to go flying overboard. After this, Helios and Bardman attacked pirates while Nikon came on deck and used an illusion spell to make it look like the hallway down to the middle deck was on fire, stopping the pirates below from following him. Alerie put the remaining pirates to sleep, after Helios convinced (through intimidation) the indentured sailors to fight for their freedom. Nikon jumped on the port side deck (by the bow) and readied a spell, as did Helios. When Slath exited the hallway onto the main deck, he was hit in the chest with a firebolt and Nikon cast the shatter spell, causing wood from the deck and nearby skiff stored on deck to take heavy damage. Slath, barely alive summoned a thunderstorm and called down a bolt of lightning to strike Helios, who responded with a firey hellish rebuke that took down Slath. Unfortunately, the lightning bolt knocked Helios off the deck but he was surprisingly acrobatic and managed to hold the side of the rails. Nikon cast shatter again on the pirates huddled down in the hallway and the fight was considered over. The game ended with them agreeing to sail to the northwest, to the borders between Shevorth and Corrive, with Girkchar not far. Yoli, Numba, and Golisteer all want to head back into Corrive for various reasons, while Alerie and Quarlton will go with them but then head towards Girkchar. Reeta and Gillian asked to accompany the party back to Shrave, while the party asked Ughragog to escort them back to Shrave, but specifically Dravens Port.
