Cleric: Hell Domain

Eight of the nine lords of Baator commands a cult of devil worshipers. The leadership of these cults inevitably falls on the shoulders of their chosen clerics. Small or large, isolated or not these insidious conspiratorial groups pose as great a danger to the societies that host them as the legions of hell do to the Prime Material plane. Clerics of the Hell domain are damned as much as any fiend pact warlock from the moment they are recruited into the cult. Often they are promised a place in the infernal hierarchy of the Nine Hells, however nine times out of ten, these promises are nothing but lies. The rare exception is granted to truly powerful clerics or those wiley enough to get it in writing.
Level Spells 1st Disguise Self, Sense Emotion 3rd Darkness, Enhance Ability 5th Detect Thoughts, Hypnotic Pattern 7th Banishment, Conjure Lesser Devil 9th Contact Other Plane, Planar Binding
Forked Tongue At first level you gain expertise and proficiency with the Deception skill, so you can double your proficiency bonus with Deception. Channel Divinity Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to see in darkness and magical darkness for 1 minute.
Faustian Pact Starting at 6th level, you gain the attention of a harvester devil or greater infernal entity and are offered an opportunity to make a pact with it. Such pacts always have strings attached, and it is common for the devil providing the pact to send other minions after a mortal signatory once their usefulness is at an end. The wiser Hell domain clerics wait before swearing a faustian pact until they have had time to prepare. Sometimes they wait several levels and arrange to have leverage with the devil offering the pact.  Normally such pacts provide the signatory with a series of up to nine benefits as they perform a series of evil acts to qualify for the benefits, agreed upon beforehand, and failure or (in some cases) hesitation to perform the evil acts results in the mortal forfeiting their immortal soul, which the devil must then acquire by killing the signatory. Each benefit is usually equivalent to a spell of gradually increased level, so the first benefit is similar to the effect of a 1st level spell, the second benefit package resembles a 2nd level spell effect, and so on, all way up to a wish. It is rare for pacts to include all nine possible outcomes, and sometimes the devil provides a lump sum of gold in lieu of a magical effect or ensures the strictly worded services of another mortal or devilish slave. Some devils require a series of sinful acts to be performed to unlock each of the progression of benefits packaged together as part of the pact, each act is progressively more degenerate than the last.  The mortal signatory is required to negotiate with the devil offering the pact, and make a total of three contested skill checks. The margin by which these checks exceed the devils roll is added together and divided by 5, this result is the number of benefits the devil agrees to provide. It is possible though difficult to contest or even nullify such a pact after it is signed in an infernal court presided over by a pit fiend judge. This fact is seldom glossed over or kept secret, and some devil worshippers believe that they will be able to swear a pact, and successfully litigate a way out of the pact. The devils encourage this greed, knowing that it makes mortals who believe it intensely short sighted and prone to stupid acts of hubris.
Infernal Adaptation At 8th level, your devotion to one of the lords of hell shields you from the environmental effects of the layer where they hold sway or in the case of Asmodeus, one layer of your choice. You also reduce the amount of elemental damage you take on your chosen layer by your cleric level. At 14th level, choose an elemental damage type; you gain immunity to it and your spells ignore resistance to it.
Infernal Inheritance At 17th level, your memories and personality are retained by whatever type of devil your damned soul becomes after you die. You are immune to the effects of the river Styxx
