The party: Bardman, Nikon, and Helios, were aboard the Bawdy Slave after the defeat of the captain and his crew. They split up loot with Lady Alerie and Lord Quarlton. Among the captain’s goods they found a Hat of Disguise, which Nikon bought rights to take from Lady Alerie. They spent the next couple of days going through the notes, ledgers, and letters they found both in the prison library and in the captain’s quarters & office, finding out the names of the people who had ordered their imprisonment. The party, Ughragog, Yoli, and the Triton Ophira were ordered to be locked away by an elf of Corrive named Larongar, while the political prisoners were ordered to be locked away by an elf named Cilivren. Rivwan was ordered to be locked away by the authority and request of Lady Corrive. While signatures and seals differed, all letters from Dordra were written by the same scribe. After finding these things out, the party informed all of the escaped prisoners who was responsible for their imprisonment. Their third night aboard the ship (second night after the mutiny), Rivwan had taken over as second mate. The ship began bucking violently with the crew, Alerie, and Rivwan all going to the top deck to manage the ship during violently stormy seas. Meanwhile crew going beneath to get supplies or catch their breathe spoke how this was Talos’ revenge for killing his priest. Rivwan spent the evening getting intoxicated with Yoli and Nikon. No one slept that night and by the next morning they were all suffering from a level of exhaustion. Going up on deck, Rivwan informed them that one of the masts was cracked and broken, and their ship was now crippled. It would take them 8 more days, instead of 4 to reach the border between Corrive & Shevorth, and if they ran into another storm like that during that time it might mean the end of the ship and crew. After talking with the pirates who switched sides and the freed sailors, they were told about a small village called Mudberry that has an extremely small shipyard but might be able to fix the mast. Bardman used his magic to point the direction to the village and people took turns getting sleep. Meanwhile, Helios went with Aleria into the captain’s quarters, where Lord Quarlton was passed out drunk, and found a cloth patch informing others that the bearer was a certified shipping vessel for the Corrive empire. The next morning the party was called on deck to see Mudberry on the horizon. With only one working Skiff holding 3 people comfortably or 5 people uncomfortably, Helios, Nikon, and Bardman has to figure out who to take with them. They could fit 2 other NPC or Ughragog. They eventually voted for Ughragog, afraid that Alerie or Yoli might make the situation a bloodbath. The party rowed to the village, landing their skiff next to the ship-works area which consistent of 4 men in robes with pale skin and sunburns, 3 working on boats and 1 cutting fish. They noticed some harpies flying around the cliffs 100 feet above them. They asked one who was paying attention to them about getting their mast fixed, he said that would be fine as long as they get the mayor’s attention. He rowed off with one of the other men to go to the Bawdy Slave to assess the damage while the party looked for the mayor. One of the men seemed quite transfixed with Nikon, following him around. They made their way to the tavern, one of the places they were told the mayor might be, and the silent man followed them but signed back answers when Nikon asked him questions. They got to the tavern and everyone went in but Nikon who was watching the two men row out to their ship. Inside were 4 fishermen at tables, an older man (in his 60s) at the end of the bar with a young woman (mid 20s) and a 10-11 year old girl tending bar. After some dialogue she revealed the mayor was her father and she’d send her brother to look for him. The group sat at the bar, including Ughragog who impressed the hell out of the girl, and drank both his and Bardman’s ale. Nikon sat down and had the choice of wine or their home-made wine, made from a local fern known as Widower’s Heart. Nikon tried a gulp, which was super potent (a shot having the effect of 3-4 glasses of wine almost immediately). After waiting for 30+ minutes, the party started to get antsy, going outside to check on the ship and seeing a now lack of harpy activity. They confronted the little girl who freely admitted in the process of going to get her father, her brother was also definitely letting the harpies know the party was there. Upon being asked she explained that when the harpies got hungry they would feed them some people, usually visitors, to keep them happy. Helios got really upset and she countered with, being that the party came in on a slaving vessel surely they would have slaves they could part with. Going back outside the harpies were now ramping up in activity, with 3 groups of them on different parts of the cliffs. The parties fled with their mute friend back to the shipyard where he, and the other shipwright, led them into a cave to seek shelter. Game ended here.
