Hey there. So recently, I was playing with macros for my character in a Pathfinder game I'm in. Since I was just learning, and hence was going through a bunch of trial and error, I was really pleased when I found the /talktomyself command, because it would both make it so that everyone else's chat wasn't full of my trial and error, and also allowed me to keep some of my character's abilities that I was making macros for secret from the others.
For a while it was going great. But just today, deciding I would double check my macros, joined the game and clicked a macro on my macro tab to see what would happen, and nothing happened. At first I thought that perhaps something had happened to the macro – I encountered an issue where I would make a macro and save it but would the reopen it and certain pieces of it would be gone, but otherwise worked as long as I didn't mess with it – but it looked fine. I then realized another weird thing: the usual green box in the chat saying "Welcome to Roll20!" and giving the basic roll/whisper tips was not present.
I opened my character sheet to see if perhaps my macros were just having an issue, but not even the sheet's built-in macros worked. Then, having an idea, I entered in the /talktomyself command in the chat, turning that function on, then tried my macros again, and this time they worked. Turning it off and trying again, then turning it on etc., I found that all of my macros, even the ones built into the character sheet, only work if /talktomyself was on.
I've tried restarting the game and my browser to see if that helped, but nothing has worked so far, and I haven't seen a forum or wiki page that addresses this issue. My next game is Thursday evening, so if you could get back to me as soon as possible, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
