Lfg noob Ad&d 2e wanting to learn.

Greetings! I am looking for an individual or group to help me learn and play ad&d 2e. I have some experience with pathfinder and 3rd edition. I'm also interested in getting the run down with the whole d20 system since I have not really played a proper game here. Let me know!
as a suggestion, what days and times you are available, with potential time of day and time zone. good luck.
Ouch. Yea I suppose that would have been pretty helpful. Thanks James. EST. Sat-Sun. Lots of flexibility as far as specific times.
also pathfinder / 3.5 are more popular than 2nd edition. So it's easier to get into the 1e / 2e groups that are around. You might consider looking in the looking for games listings. I'm working on a new 2nd edition Based on 2e Birthright Rules, but not setting (by Rich Baker) game map, but it won't be ready til about mid january. Looking at 7 or 8 PM EST Saturdays, til about 11 - 12. I'm working with another GM to help to rig up his own old skool D&D maybe saturdays. lots going on igf you look around a bit. Games drop off the threads daily so if you look back even a few days, you can find some of us old skool GMs who are about the only guys that run 1e or 2e, or non d20 systems. Almost everyone else, especially younger dms, run 3.5 / pathfinder. If you can't find a game this month to get into, I'll be around, maybe keep me & my D&D in mind. Good luck.
I'm not affiliated with this group, but some of the people attached to it are competent and friendly from what I've experienced: ROLL2E the AD&D2E Tavern, 2nd Edition Meetup, Roll20 Hangout spot . That might be a way to get in on a 2E game sooner rather than later. Also, 2E (and older) games get advertised in the forum fairly regularly, so don't lose hope. Keep an eye on the forum and LFG search and you'll find one before too long.
James- I will definitely keep your game in mind. My wife ordered me the premium Ad&d2e books-maybe by then I could have enough down to function fluidly. I will keep looking as I really like what I've digested so far with a2e and it seems to me the groups I have found-though fewer in number seem more dedicated to playing. Maybe thats because they may be veteran players idk.
Dave- Thanks for pointing me in a particular direction, I will definitely check them out. I noticed on the forum its easy for a thread to get lost in a sea of others in a short period of time so if others dont show up right away-I'll sail back and check older postings.
"the groups I have found-though fewer in number seem more dedicated to playing. Maybe thats because they may be veteran players idk." Usually, but not always. lots of times online and in local area it is people who are 45 to 50+ and got their start with old skool in the mid to late 70s. They didn't buy into 3rd ed and later d20 splatbooks. But sometimes it is a rebellion to post d20 going back to simpler games. you see this a lot with OSRIC and such. lots of those old skool feel systems. Working on the timeline for this thing. By Premium do you mean the newer re -releases? I'm familiar with old skool 1e, 2e, and the black bbook 2e. I have seen the new special edition or whatever re-releases of 1e, and now some 3.5 re-releases with silver border. but not 2e "Premium" but I have not been looking all too hard. I have core rules 1.0 and 2.0 for 2nd ed, plus a complete collection of those blue, brown, green, and rare black (ninja) books. for 2e. I'll make a campaign thing and hook you to it, so if we can find people maybe get it off the ground here in 2014.
Yes the re-releases http://www.amazon.com/Premium-Advanced-Dungeons-Ha... As far as I know they are pretty much exactly the same as the origional but, far easier to navigate and there have been spelling corrections -re-mastered artwork ect . So those will be my goto books until you can get the campaign rolling . By then, what ever house/home brew you might choose to throw in I can tackle without worrying about the basics of ad2 . I have the link - keep me updated as it progresses and I'll be ready.
