Baron Corly and Machinations of Valaki

The Baron Valakiovich lies dead, brutally attacked and pierced with arrows and cremated publicly. At large is the Baroness Valakiovich and Viktor is returned to his T-rex Gnawed Manse. The Wachter's are repeled from the estate. Yeah this is going to go well.
@ All Using what we have left of the day, Cecil will see who is willing to accompany him to the Wachter household.
@Cecil Gildas gives the priest an inquisitive look. Events continue to progress in increasingly severe and disturbing ways. Today their group essentially took over Valaki in bloody fashion, something that did not sit entirely well with him. They were here for the book, nothing else. At least they were successful in that regard... The darkness of Strahd seemed to be closing in on them, and it seemed to be affecting them all solely but surely. This looming threat must be felt with and soon. "What is it that we need with them, Cecil?" The tone held perhaps a touch of skepticism. Perhaps out was worry.

@ Turi (And anyone near me) Staring at the druid, as if it should be obvious. "We have a strong clue as to what is ailing the Wachter girl. I intend to fix her. Along with that, I intend to dissuade the Lady Wachter on taking any foolish course of action. I don't intend to rule here, and after we have removed the taint from this land, she will have an opportunity to stand in the light. If she does not act foolishly in the mean time, she may even achieve her goal of being this towns leader."
@Cecil Despite his misgivings, the priest's course of action seemed reasonable, and to cure someone sounded like a balancing factor to some of the more recent activities they engaged in. "I think that is a good idea. We will need to show in numbers if we are to avoid the kinds of violence we have found here. "
@ All Listening to Celcil and Gildas discuss the actions of the day Grenval enters the conversation. "Cecil I think it is the right call to try and smooth things over with the rival nobles I will gladly assist in anyway I can. Also I think you may want to consider what happens if killing Strahd doesn't free this land as you hope. If that is the case you may need to act a interim Baron a bit longer then you plan. In that possibility with my new position with the church I hope we can work together to rebuild and protect this land. Though Lathander isn't your chosen deity he is mine and I will back you up if you will do the same for the church."
@ All Cecil nods to Grenval. "That seems prudent. And I think that due to the differences of our patrons, we could create a balanced land." Looking to the others. "Well then. Lets head to the Wachter house."
@ The proposed theocrats "Well at the very least you have the dismissal of my beliefs to use as common ground? " There was a distinct lack of offense in Gildas comment as he turned to move along with the two men.
((bless your hearts, opressors...no offense))
((At least you can take some solice that the druid's likely to get a raw deal out of anything that happens here? Starting to feel like the humans in the kids in the Freddy vs. Jason movie...))
((Leave it to a hippie to think an A-B conversation oppresses his way of life.))
@ All Though the town politics could not interest her any less, Lost will also be following along, mainly on the chance things get hostile. The day is far from over, and perhaps there is still work for Pholtus to be done.

@ Gildas "Did I denounce your beliefs? I don't believe I did. The fact that we don't all share the same beliefs isn't as important to me as the actions we take against evil. So far we all seem to be working well together and defiantly worrying Stahd, that is enough for me to accept you as a person regardless if you follow the Morning Lord or not. I'm not the zealot that you seem to think I am.'
@Grenval "I claimed dismissal, not denouncement, Grenval." Gildas' face is still wearing the casual smile that it was when he made his initial comment. "I agree with you otherwise, it is the deeds of the person that should be weighed, not the spirit they pay their reverence to. And I do not believe you to be as zealous as some that I have encountered in my past, and if you think that I have slighted you as such, please know that this is not the case. Not to say that zeal does not have its place, or is useful to us. We will indeed need every ounce of conviction in our spirits if we are to succeed the trials laid before us." His eyes drift back to his Huntress as she follows behind their group. On one hand, he is comforted to know that she is within sight considering the most recent events to unfold, but he couldn't help but to wonder how things may get complicated if her hackles somehow get raised. The druid has no appetite for any more aggression this day.
@ Gildus Grenvel will nod in approval "Good I'm glad we are are in agreement. Unity is another thing we will need in the coming days."
