The Following languages are used in Wheel of Time: Human Languages: Common: The language used by most mortal races for trading purposes. Humans and Halflings use these as their primary languages. Old Tongue: The common tongue during the Age of Legends, that is now mostly extinct. Only Nobles and beings with very long memories are reported to still know and use the language. Aiel: An ancient language with the same roots as Common, the Aiel language is a subtle language using sign language, body language, and a harsh guttural words to convey messages and meaning. Sharan: Shara has been isolated for most of the Third age, resulting in the formation of Sharan as its own unique language. Seanchan: While most of the Seanchan empire speaks common, their people also hold on to their original tongue. Racial Languages: Elven: Elves, Tal’Dori, & Ogier. Dwarven: Dwarves. Shadowspeak: Trollocs, Myrddraal, other shadowspawn, and creatures that dwell on either the Etherial or Shadow planes. Giant: Ogier, Trolls, & Giants Orcish: Orcs. Goblin: Gnolls and Goblinoids Draconic: Dragons, Kobolds, Lizardfolk, Troglodytes, and other reptilian creatures. Sylvan: Dryads and other Fey creatures. Undercommon: Drow & Creatures that live in the Underdark. Planar Languages: Aquatic: Water-based creatures. Auran: Air-based creatures. Ignan: Fire-based creatures. Terran: Earth Based Creatures. Abyssal: Demons and Chaotic Evil Outsiders. Infernal: Devils and Lawful Evil Outsiders. Celestial: Good Outsiders.
