Where better to start playing than at the beginning? Come join an experienced Dungeon Master and long time role player as I seek to play through the D&D 5e Starter Set (with my own little twist). Finn and Folk are Helping a Dwarf! Why hello again Roll20. I'm back! This time looking to form an entirely new party to undergo something a little more familiar. The Lost Mines of Phandelver! The first published WoTC adventure set in the Forgotten Realms released for 5th edition D&D. The adventure was originally released on July 14th 2014 along with the 5th Edition Starter Set to help people get into the new edition.. And somehow after playing this edition for over 2 years I've managed to completely avoid it! So it's time to remedy that... about three weeks back I bought myself a hard copy of the set and began lightly reading it over. It's been a good amount of time now, and I believe I'm ready to give this sucker a run for it's money. All I need now is an ambitious group of individuals with enough enthusiasm (and perhaps a little bloodlust) to make their way through! The Story So Far... From the book... "In the city of Neverwinter, a dwarf named Gundren Rockseeker asked you to bring a wagonload of provisions to the rough-and-tumble settlement of Phandalin, a couple of days’ travel southeast of the city. Gundren was clearly excited and more than a little secretive about his reasons for the trip, saying only that he and his brothers had found “something big,” and that he’d pay you ten gold pieces each for escorting his supplies safely to Barthen’s Provisions, a trading post in Phandalin. He then set out ahead of you on horse, along with a warrior escort named Sildar Hallwinter, claiming he needed to arrive early to “take care of business.” You’ve spent the last few days following the High Road south from Neverwinter, and you’ve just recently veered east along the Triboar Trail. You’ve encountered no trouble so far, but this territory can be dangerous. Bandits and outlaws have been known to lurk along the trail." TLDR Some gitty lookin dwarf approached you at the bar.. You were pretty drunk at the time and in a rather good mood. Anyways, you kind of blacked out pretty quickly after he starts ordering you drinks. You ended up waking up the next morning in a moving cart with a signed contract in your pocket. The good news is that the piece of paper guarantees you 10 gold coins if you get this cart safely to its destination. Also you're over half way there. So score. Alright Finn... Sounds Good So Far. Now What? If everything you've read so far sounds good, you're ready to move on the the Applications section below. Navigate yourself down to the Discussion posts below and find the one labeled Applications. Inside you'll see a format to which you can post applications to this game. Have any questions? Send me a PM! I check Roll20 daily and I'm always open to questions. Anyhow, that's about it for this weeks post! Thank you for reading through this post to the end. I hope I've added enough emphasis to make this a rather easy read. As a man suffering from ADD myself I know how much of a struggle walls of text can be! I look forward to reading your applications soon. Until next time Roll20!
