The group decide to stay with the Narthex. They collect Evanna and the reunion with her and her brother is lovely. The journal they had found showed a number of upcoming locations and they sound interesting. They then decide to explore deeper into the structure. They spend two days exploring the structure but seem to have only slightly penetrated it's depths. They return to see where the Narthex appears next. They appear on a hillside looking at a distant town. It is a pleasant looking place with wheat and beanfields stretching some distance from the small town. The town has a number of structures, but all are overwhelmed by a massive tower that reaches into the sky as far as the eye can see. As they are looking, they hear a voice calling them. It is a travelling Aeon Priest called Daymish. He is travelling to the town to deliver medicines he has created according to a formula send to him by a local clave of priests. They knew he was close to the town and communicated with him through a numenera device that links the priests together and asked him to use his matter creation device to make the medicine. The priest recognises Kel as an acolyte and mentions that the Narthex and the discoveries he has made through that would be all he would need to ascend to full priesthood. They show him inside and then he invites them to join him for the rest of the journey into the town.  They make their way to the town and as they get closer they see figures shuffling through the streets. They continue closer and find that the town is inhabited by people who are thoroughly sleep deprived. They have not slept for days. When they try, their dreams are filled with insane and incomprehensible dreams and they wake screaming. The group stop briefly for refreshment but then decide to continue onto the clave. They talk their way past a guard, but find the small tower that houses the clave is deserted. They find a notebook which documents the priests efforts to combat this malady. It appears that the dreams are being caused by a signal coming from the tower. The journal discusses a communications dome 2 days walk from the town that may be able to be used to shut down the signal. The priests suspect that part of the equipment is broken, and a picture of a mechanical tube is drawn on the page. They had decided to go and fix it, and the journal stated that they decided to sneak away in the night as they were worried that the townsfolk would think they were being deserted. The group decide to head to the dome. They travel for a further two days through the wilderness till they find the structure. Outside, body parts are scattered around and tracks lead off into the wilderness. Daymish suspects Magyr - a species of abhuman known for their savagery. They go inside and find that some of the equipment has been taken apart and a burnt out tube is mixed in amongst the gear. They realise that the Magyr may have taken or destroyed the replacement tube and decide to start following the tracks. Daymish stays at the dome to do as much as he can to repair it. They follow the trail for another day and a half until they cross a ridge and see over 20 Magyr and 4 beasts of burden walking up ahead of them. Kel and Buster are delighted and decide that it is time to attack, both of them firing their ranged weapons immediately. A massive battle ensues, but the heroes defeat the Magyr and find the replacement tube. They return to the dome and replace the tube. Immediately they realise that a sound that was resonating through their subconscious has ended. Then the creature of darkness that they fought so long ago re-emerges from Chips cyphers. They defeat it, but it returns into the cyphers of the group.  They head back to the town of the Beanstalk, but the streets are completely deserted. Everyone is asleep. They head back to the Narthex in time for its next journey.
