Who: I'm looking for 1 or 2 additional players of any level of familiarity with Fate, even people brand new to it. What: I'm hoping to form a long-lasting group that wants to do two (or three)-shot games of many (or all) the PWYW settings, Fate Worlds settings, and Fate Codex campaign ideas, in an order determined in some random way such as tarot cards or dice. The idea is to basically run them with the intention to go from character creation through a short adventure in just a few hours. Where: Discord and Roll20! So i guess you can be anywhere When: Thursdays 6pm PST. Why: Because of the group I tried to start, one didn't show at all and one dropped after one session. You should apply if: • You're interested in the system, regardless of prior use or competency with it (I like taking my time both learning and teaching as we go. I'll be new to much of what we do at the same time as the players) • You're open to changing settings, and making new (easy to make) characters fairly often. • You're willing to adapt the characters you're making to better fit with the group or other players' story needs (a major part of the system) • You're not afraid to provide your own descriptions and narration when appropriate. For example, the person getting the last success in a conflict gets to describe how they win the conflict and the price the losing side pays. • You're not afraid to lose or concede conflicts and combat sometimes, especially if the stakes aren't your character's lives. • You're open to settings that dabble in the weirdness ( Iron Chef in space? Players as magic cats? these things and more are here! ) • You're open to 'adult' themes and stories that might go to dark paces from time to time ( not all the time ) • You're not afraid to express if you dislike something regardless of other players' or the GM's feelings, and you can express this without ragequitting. • The idea of discovering what costs competent characters might go to for their success interests you. • You enjoy Improv. • Evenings work for your schedule. • You aren't about to become a parent for the first time in the next few weeks. Seriously, i keep losing good gamers when they have children. Congrats, you got laid and won a prize. Now come back to gaming, your nerdbros miss you!
