“This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $15 per session and player via paypal. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and
cannot enforce any private arrangements." Greetings, this is an offer / interest check for a Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 campaign. If we get 4-5 long-term motivated players, I am willing to run a Sunday game. Background for me as a DM: I am an experienced Dungeon master with over 6.000 hours in Roll20 and more than 15 years of DMing experience. Being aware that a pay-to-play game needs to be worth its money, I run the game with the clear intention to exceed the players expectations. It goes without saying that all of the sessions are well prepared, usually for each of the campaigns I have multiple thousand of immersive handouts, descriptions and background information. The total world spans about 150 maps, about 500 macros for combat as well as carefully created manual content. The in-game content in many cases is pixel perfect to offer a good immersion. In order to give you an overview, here are some examples of what it can look like: http://imgur.com/a/rgjp7 Timing: I would offer to run the campaign on Sundays, my current timezone is Central US Time (CDT), which is (CET -7). I am happy to discuss about starting and ending time, each session will at least last 3-4 hours per week. (Happy to run an extra hour or two if everyone is having fun). The campaign: Since I want to meet the players interests, it is of importance to me that I am meeting your preferences. I do have four detailed campaigns as already implemented options. You find the individual description of the campaign in the post section below. If you are interested in a campaign - just leave your comment in the respective section. Feel free to express your interest in multiple scenarios. Clarification: I will run only ONE of the scenarios - with offering four different choices, I wanted to make it more appealing to get at least 4 players (max. 5), which is the size of the group that still encourages an immersive role-playing experience. OPTION 1: Red Hand of Doom (printed adventure) Rated as one of the best adventures in the history of DnD (and probably the best pre-printed adventure in 3.5), this is a great setting, where players try to prevent the Elsar Vale from becoming overrun by a large Hobgoblin Army, which uses the help of Dragons to extinguish the lands from the human reign. (Level 5-11, with the option for many more adventures afterwards) OPTION 2: The rise and fall of Frostfall (Forgotten Realms adaption) An Adventure path, where the heroes would take on the survival on a small islands - the remote fog-isles, which is commonly used to send high profile criminals from Waterdeep into permanent exile. No-one has yet returned from these islands. However, it soon becomes clear that the heroes, despite their amnesia, do not seem to be criminal at all, the opposite is true. What they uncover - on their way to survival - is much, much bigger than just their fight to stay alive, An ancient evil spins an intrigue, which can be world changing and shift the forgotten realms as we know them into chaos. (Level 1- 20, really long term campaign, got a lot of material there) OPTION 3: The inner Islands (Homebrew) A realm of pirates, is one of the last resorts of outlaws and criminals. Growing up in these areas might lead to riches and fortune, but you risk as well just end up as a common slave among many others. Inspired by a pirate based setting, with exploration and naval elements, this jungle climate sandbox campaign gives the player the maximum freedom to explore and interact with the world. The players take on the role of either a (pirate/imperial) crew or young soldiers on one of the many islands. Lore and behold - they can forge their own destiny - and even commit even evil acts (if you want to play evil parties). (Level 1-11, sandbox setting, dynamically adapting to whatever the players decide to do) OPTION 4: Barrow of the Forgotten Kings Remains: (Pre-printed Trilogy of Adventures) This is a trilogy of premade adventures, which leads the heroes from the town of Kingsholm all the way through a chase for an ancient prophecy, the return of former king. As the remains of the king are in danger, a vile plot unfolds, leading the adventurers deeper into the labyrinths of the underworld and into dangers and horrors that lurk beneath the surface. (Level 1-11, with an option for free-play after that) Roleplay, Rules, Combat: Depending on your interest, I usually tend to offer in-game options to follow a mix of roleplaying and combat. Since I enjoy both, it often ends up to be equally distributed. I am very rule knowledgeable and therefore playing by the rules will be no problem (I tend to give less experienced players a breakdown of their options and likely consequences). A core trait of all my scenarios is that actions have consequences, no matter what you decide, you will see an impact in the game world. Character Creation: Depends on the scenario selected (starting level) and the preference of the players. Generally speaking, I have all source books and as long as it is officially published, it can be used. Depending on the preference of my players, I usually tend to offer a selection from following methods (group decides and everyone uses the same method afterwards). The following options should be examples to give you an inspiration of what char-gen could look like. Easy Game: - Stats: Point Buy 36 points or Heroic Stat array (18, 16, 14, 12, 12, 10) - Traits: 2 free traits - Level Buyoff: allowed - Templates / LA Races: all allowed - Multiclassing penalty: none - Gold: Wealth per level of the next higher level Medium difficult Game: - Stats: Point Buy 28 points or Normal Stat array (17, 15, 13, 12, 10, 8) - Traits: 1 trait max - Level Buyoff: allowed - Templates / LA Races: max 1 - Multiclassing penalty: none - Gold: Wealth per level Challenging Game: - Stats: Point Buy 20 points (casters), 24 points martial character - Traits: none - Level Buyoff: none - Templates / LA Races: none - Multiclassing penalty: yes - Gold: lower than WPL and restricted magic items House rules: I usually do not use house rules, as in my experience most of the players are reasonably fine with the rules as written content. If the group collectively has wishes to modify parts of the system, I have a lot of experience in how to do that. As for now, I intend to provide the purest DnD 3.5 experience to the players. How to apply: This campaign is looking for long term motivated players.
