Hi all, I find trying to make a charater that resonates within a vacume is a tricky thing so I thought it would be best to give you some idea of what the area is like, it should also be noted that as this is set on Gold's planet and plane charaters from Portlandio would be viable. Fortune's Grasp is set within Gold's larger multiverse, also the usual combat THACO and charater generation rules from Gold's man core game apply here. This is to provide some fermiliarity and also to save me a Tolken sized book of work! The peninsula of Fortune's Grasp is a haven for anyone that wishes to carve thier own destiny, indeed many have come seeking the same kind of glory that the now many a tale told about Challengers of Destiny enjoy. A fully independant state with no standing army and many rival heads of power. Some areas are ruled by Dread Pirate Lords and others more legitimate overseers. This is the Golden age of Piracy, reputation is everything. The setting is open to all kinds of charater concepts, be you a young privateer or pirate seeking fame, gold and a pretty girl for the night or perhaps you want to instill order and a fair rule. The choice is yours, I am open to any kind of charater consept exept one. Twirling mustache Chaotic Evil is banned on charater creation: Seems obvious but there it is. Equally if you are looking to play a Lawful Good charater that is fine but be ready to be challanged, There is Law in Fortune's Grasp but it is often pushed, bent and broken. Culture and racial considerations: Elves hate dwarves right......right? This is a continent that by nesseity has many races competing and working together, Elves and dwaves may indeed have a bandit group and work together. That is not to say that after a few drinks the insults might fly and fists to follow! If you want to play a less known or used race just let me know, I have no problem with somone wanting to play a Goblin thief or a Kobald priest etc. A good source of inspiration would be this book http://www.pandius.com/TSR2521-SCS2.pdf I found a cool class in this 2E book can I play it?: short answer probably yes, unless the class is game breaking. Are we all Pirates and do I have to swim?: Not at all, the setting is a Tropical one thematically. I'll have more info for you all over the next few days with a few maps of towns and key NPC's. Looking forward to seeing you all in game!
