Tokens and Grids

So I have tried to find a consistent D&D 3.5 or 4, Pathfinder, even shadow run. It seems as though not to many campaigns are run consistently here. I decided to just make a map and try to host a game myself but I am new to online gaming and trying to figure out the map creator is tough. My biggest problem is that I have no map pieces, tiles, grids whatever they are called. I also have no money to purchase these things. I have selected a few free tokens from the store and even made a few with maptools but there are no tiles for free. I believe this is crucial to creating a game. Any suggestions on how to get free tiles and tokens to make maps with or even create tiles that don't look like crap? I got tons of ideas just not tons of money. Any help would be apreciated thanks.
Pyromancers.com's Dungeon Painter might be a step in the right direction for you - it allows you to build a map through their website and then export it in a way usable by Roll20. RPG Map Share has a really great collection of pre-made maps and objects as well. I tend to make my own via Paint.net or Inkscape and then make environments from scratch. It's rewarding, but very time consuming. Also, a really great game can be run just using the drawing tools and using description and imagination to fill in the details. Don't feel obligated to have every bell and whistle from the get-go; it might be a case of putting the cart before the horse.
this looks promising thank you friend.

Are you just striking out with the roll20 web search, Jman? When you do an art search it lists items in your art library first, then marketplace content, then free content on the web.
well Kristin I did look for different kinds of stuff on there and found a few figures I liked but no tiles to place as map pieces. I looked for free stuff too and didnt come up with much. I did a Google search for like tokens and stuff but all I came up with was map tools. Actually {shameless plug} I been listening to this podcast "dungeons and randomness" I learned about map tools from them, also online tabletop something that I hated.{its the online program they use to game on} I decided to do a Google search for online role playing, and after scrolling through some nonsense I found roll20. So like I said before I am a noob online gamer and know of no resources to help me. I am going to try Dave D's suggestion and see what I come up with. Thanks for the reply and the interest in helping others ;)

Jman , did you switch the dropdown menu from 'tokens' to "maps, tiles, textures" ?

What Gauss said. That completely slipped my mind to ask. We have a tagging filtration system that helps target image types.
