[LFP] [Pathfinder] Rise of the Runelords, every Tuesday at noon EST

Here are the important details! Who? We're looking for two players who'll stay with us for a campaign planned for at least 6 months of play. If you're new to Pathfinder, welcome! If you're an experienced Pathfinder or already played through parts of this adventure path, I'll do my best to keep the game fresh! What? The Rise of the Runelords adventure path, with revisions. I've played through this adventure path once before, and have experience in D&D 3.5e, PF, SWSE, and as a GM for the Pathfinder Society. I hope my changes as a whole make the adventure path more immersive, coherent, and exciting. See my Commitments in the post below. When? Every Tuesday, at noon EST until people get tired (or around 5 to 7 PM). Where? We'll be using Roll20 for the game, and Discord for the group chat. How? Either message me or reply below. I'm not looking for a completed character sheet, but for a general idea for a character, and who you are as a player. Expect character creation guidelines that use a 20-point purchase system and the Pathfinder Reference Document, with other source books on a case-by-case basis. I hope to get this campaign started on the 11th of July. Happy gaming!

The following is copied from my campaign page. Commitments A friendly, inclusive environment. If you all had fun, then I had fun. One of the core conceits for Pathfinder is that you can roleplay as who you want, how you want, within the boundaries of the rules. I'll work with you to make that happen. On the other hand, I will respect everyone's boundaries when roleplaying, no questions asked. I believe that people can react appropriately in character to explicit content without having to experience it directly. The same time, on the same channel. I'd like to take you all the way through this adventure path to the end. To that end, I'll be punctual with my time and yours, and I ask the same of all of you. If a player can't make it to a game, I'll at least run a vignette or one-shot. If I can't make it to a game, I'll let you know at least a day or two before so that I don't waste your time. A fresh approach to adventure. If you're new to Pathfinder, congratulations! I'll do my best to make the game as welcoming and immersive as possible. If you're an experienced Pathfinder or you've played through parts of this adventure path before, I'm implementing enough changes that I hope the game is interesting all the way through. All I ask is that you keep character and player knowledge separate. After all, no-one has seen or heard of the Runelords for hundreds of years!
Damn, is the time non-negotiable? Because I work Mon-Fri from 8 to 6... Haha
Sounds awesome, but going for five to six hours seems a little long. Would love to join otherwise.
I am interested in joining, but I hear Pathfinder Society is really strict on rules of creation. Is this true? If so I would like to know them before i totally throw my hat in the ring. So can you please mail me these rules. And if they look fair I will put my app in. tyvm

@ Zebra: The date and when the game begins is set. One of the reasons I'm running this campaign is because I moved away from my previous LGS, and one of my previous group members will be participating in the campaign. This date and time is when both of our schedules align. @ Jacob S.: When the game ends is up to the players. A player has already told me that he needs the game to end before 7 PM; if you think that the sessions are too long, we can adjust accordingly. This isn't your ordinary convention one-shot or Pathfinder Society scenario that relies on a tight three-to-four hour time slot, so we can take breaks in the middle of each session, and find a rhythm that works for the group. @ mizore shirayuki: Although I have experience GMing for the Pathfinder Society, this isn't an official Pathfinder Society session. As in my other personal games, I prefer to look at the rules-as-intended moreso than strictly rules-as-written. As I mentioned above, this campaign will use a 20-pt. buy. Most content from the Pathfinder Reference Document is available, with a few caveats (see below). Pathfinder Campaign Setting and Pathfinder Player Companion content will be allowed on a case-by-case basis. No content from the Technology Guide , gunslingers (except for the bolt ace archetype), or other character options that use firearms. Your character must worship one of the twenty core deities of Golarion if he or she is a divine spellcaster. The unchained summoner from Pathfinder Unchained replaces the original summoner from the Advanced Player's Guide . Preference is given to characters of a race introduced in the Core Rulebook .
Ok cool tyvm I can work with that. Now besides core races. what is rp allowed? as for app. My name is aaron, 39 yrs old. I have played sense 1rst edd d&d at age of 9. My game style normally a 50/50 on rp and combat. I prefer sandboxes but I have played rise of the runelords before and enjoyed it. As for char I would choose race after what rp is set beyond core races. but for classes I would play magus. I like the gish style classes. If you have nay questions please ask. tyvm

@ mizore shirayuki: I take race point balance with a grain of salt, because I know some races can quickly become imbalanced for all the wrong reasons. I've gone through the Advanced Race Guide and put down a few thoughts on non-core races below. I hope they answer your question. From the uncommon and rare races provided in the Advanced Race Guide , half-human races (aasimars, changelings, dhampirs, fetchlings, ifrits, oreads, sylphs, tieflings, and undines) are the most appropriate for this campaign. Duergar, drow, and svirfneblins are from the Darklands, and aren't appropriate for this campaign. Goblins, hobgoblins, kobolds, and orcs are monster races. They could work, but since you'll face some of them as foes in the campaign and their presence is poorly tolerated in Varisia, any character of these races would need to be better thought out and explained. Gillmen, kitsune, merfolk, nagaji, samsarans, strix, sulis, tengu, vanara, vishkanyas, and wayangs are foreign to the region and aren't appropriate for this campaign. An argument could be made for them, but they would be outsiders to the region and other aspects of the character would have to shine. I won't be using the race builder to create new races for this campaign. If you've played this adventure path before, did you play the whole thing, or up until a certain book? I'm making enough changes to the encounters and the story for the game to still be interesting, but it's important to me that all players separate player and character knowledge. There will be a good mix of combat and roleplaying, and you'll be given more freedom than what the written adventure allows on when or what to tackle at any location. A magus doesn't overlap with any character concept I've received up to now. Feel free to write up your character using whatever format is most comfortable for you. Here are the character creation guidelines in full.

@ mizore shirayuki: I prefer using the Pathfinder Reference Document because it only has the books from the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game line, so I know what content from different source books I need to look at more detail. There's also the issue that the d20PFSRD doesn't have any reference to Golarion, which blurs the line on 3PP content and content for other APs compared to sites like Archives of Nethys. In the end, feel free to use whichever reference you prefer, but keep in mind that only the content on the PRD is freely available, and you need to discuss any content you want to use from a Pathfinder Campaign Setting or Pathfinder Player Companion with me first. I have most of these source books as pdfs, so once character creation is underway, I can forward you the pdf so you can have a more permanent reference.
is Seeker: Benefits: You gain a +1 trait bonus on Perception checks, and Perception is always a class skill for you. ok for a trait from Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Ultimate Campaign? sense u said to ask for Pathfinder Campaign .

I'd be willing to join, I have only been playing Pathfinder for the past three year but I understand the game very well. Actually, I actually never played any form of Rise of the Runelords before, so this should be interesting to me. I have only one question, are there any specific roles that you need filled, or is it just up for grabs?

We've finally gone through each of your responses, found the players we're looking for, and have contacted them through private message. Thank you for your time, and happy gaming!
