How to erase vector lines in the Dynamic Lighting layer?

Hello! I just acquired the dynamic lighting feature and am very excited to use it. After tracing all my walls with green polygon lines and my doors with red, I've realized that I don't know how to erase the red doors for when the players open them. I can't seem to select the red lines with the select tool, and Ctrl Z is obviously of very limited use.

Any help would be most welcome!

Thanks,

Phil

If you've traced the entire wall, including door with green and then traced over the green with red you still have the green line underneath. You have to make multiple sections that don't include going over the door with your primary wall lines.

Then you can go back into the lighting layer and select/delete the door line you drew.

Zoom in real close and try that way.

I have segmented the lines so that when I delete the red, there should be no green beneath.

I've zoomed in to 100% and when I select the Select/Move tool, and am on the Dynamic Lighting layer, clicking on the polygon line does not select it.

Try drawing a thin selection box across the line.

That causes a great selection box to appear around the whole room, highlighting and allowing me to move both green and red lines.

It looks like some lines are grouped while others aren't. If I select a red partition, it selects the left bounding green wall as well, no matter how careful I am to only draw the selection box across the red. When I press delete, a number of grouped lines disappear. Yet I can select a single column and delete that alone.

Is there a way that polygon lines get associated with each other, even if you press ESC between inserting them and change their colors?

More investigation reveals that it's the enclosing box around all the other segments that seems to be the problem. If I delete the outer wall that contains the map, I can now select interior polygon shapes easily. Could it have something to do with the exterior enclosing polygon conflicting with the selection of the interior ones?

Phil, yes. If you make a very large art object it can block out others. The suggested method is to use single lines whenever possible.

Hi Gauss,

Thanks for jumping in! I figured it out through trial and error, and now have replaced the enclosing squares with separate straight lines, and it's now working fine. Thanks!
