I thought the point of......

I thought the point of the website was in part to stop all the Roll20 notification?
Hey Shawn, It is but: a) not everyone is on the website yet and b) roll20 still seems the main place that people want to communicate. We as DMs are posting on both locations just in case we miss someone. But we encourage everyone to join the website and post most of their communication on there. Sorry, if there have been too many notifications.
the problem with the website is nothing with the website itself, I assure you.  I've actually been part of several (and I do mean several) different gaming websites of various types and genres... and a lot of them someone would offer to make a forum (some of them multiple) and one of the things I have found throughout all of them is simply, that you never have the same level of activity on the forum as you do the site itself. If I had to venture a guess, I think it just has something to do with having to go to a separate website, and a lot of people don't want to be bothered with that, even if it's easy. Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely nothing with the website, or setting up separate websites for a specific purpose, or separate forums, and in fact was there checking out the website the same week it went up. This is just a simple observation I've made over many years and dozens of different sites.

Just send any DM a PM and we can get you there.
I still prefer this site. We have the same problem on Discord where you have to wade through a sea of messages to get to the beginning of a conversation... I think we should have one-shot notifications on here at least; Discord would be fine for that as well, since it notifies you if you have the app, which is handy. Communication for campaigns can be done within their own game's forum, and that keeps it out of the messages for everyone not involved, but still notifies those that need to know, which I find helpful.
Thanks for your input guys, this very helpful. The biggest area we need to improve upon here is communication, which was revealed in the survey responses. We will be discussing ways to streamline this so people are not overwhelmed by notifications, but are still able to know what's happening.
