Will be making a PDF to accompany this as well so that more Capcom Monster Hunter Fans can create a Roleplaying Tabletop game. OLD rules Rules figured out so far for the module: ARMOR: Armor will affect your hp and your survivability. Example if you are wearing armor and are attacked the armor has its own hp gauge that is affected before you black out. If you are not wearing armor or the monster gets some of it off of you when your unconscious during some kind of pin attack, you could die in game. Please note this is not 100% permanent I am mixing a little in for this by having lifepowder be able to be a sort of sensu bean for the monster hunter world. Weapons: each weapon type has their own range, special abilities--ignores armour etc--and damage rolls. So for lets say Longsword, you would roll for your attack, then your damage lets say would be 2d4+#. This would give you the actual damage for the monster. Dodging = uses Dexterity also evade skill +1 or the higher +2 will actually add a +1 or +2 to your dex roll Ability: Guarding. Same on all weapons able to guard Drawing takes the first action in game…same for monsters monsters need to get out a roar before they start the combat rolls. Weapons: Great Swords have great damage and can be used as a shield if given the chance to put the block up…it takes a turn to prep the shield without a skill. Can Charge to do massive damage takes two turns and can not block or move Long Sword: No way to defend but you can launch three to five attacks a turn. Also you can use your essence points to cause more damage but the essence only recharges with role-play inside of towns/cities Sword and Shield: Small physical damage strong elemental damage No need to take a turn to block. Duel Swords: Same with Longswords but low physical damage and high elemental damage. Lance: Can block and attack in same turn but only one stab per turn. If not blocking can do three pierce/stabs per turn. Can Charge to do massive damage takes two turns but can hold shield out to block for one attack when charging. It is a multiplier of the reg damage by 1.250 for each turn charged in case you do launch it before the full charge giving a 3 Damage multiplier. Example ………..Say the hammer has the 1D10 Attack…if charged next turn would be 1D10 * 1.25 If charged for the max of two turns it will have a 1D10* 3. Gun Lance: Same as gunlance but less damage than a lance. Also can load 5 shots a turn as the whole action and can fire one in each turn. The skills aka abilities will be more focused on Monster Hunter feel so say you use stealth…will aid in some situations but if you get too close you can be spotted. It is the common sense law. For monsters, You would do a roll and if your armor or you have an ability to avoid that specific kind of attack it gives you a better chance and getting the right roll to avoid the spell like sleep….if explosive damage only way to avoid is doing a dodge roll. Also totally understand that some of you wished to start this up faster but yes making a brand new module is a bit rough. Found out the best module to use to aid with this is all Flesh Must be eaten and we will mostly be using d10 rolls but the dice used will vary from d3-d20. D100 will only be used by the gm to decide how big and how strong the wyvern or wyverns in the area are. I will write up the actual notebooks when I get a chance but do have a decent idea on how the stat rules will work now. The towns will be the rp and shopping areas along with some minor advances like black market trades, bandit raids to even dragon attacks. There will be a farm feature allowing you to harvest and farm materials inside some local towns some locations better than others. Obtaining weapons and armors will be a mix of MH Style to even having friends who are just blacksmiths building them to even finding or being given some for completing tasks or finding treasure. Dodging amount per turn is based on your dodge is a lv 2 you can dodge twice. If you have a max stat of 6 then you can dodge 6 times before a whole turn ends. Damage on the weapon type sets in Equation form. Great Swords = Reg Damage/blocking: D12 x (Str + 1) ........................Charged Attack (Two turns) (12 X (Str +1)) X 2 ...........................If taken the time to charge your move as in waiting two turns it does Max damage of a reg times two.
