Advanced Vision Help

I'm currently running CoS and we stream it on Twitch. Though I'm DMing, I am not the one streaming. As a result, we're looking for a way to let one player (the streamer) see the vision of all the characters. Right now we have him set as one of the controlling players for all the PCs. This has led to some odd complications though. For one, we're trying to find a way for him to toggle between his vision and everyone's vision. Anyone have any clever ideas? Thank you. P.S. I have Pro+ so APIs are an option.

I have a script that's designed precisely for that:&nbsp; <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/4742980/script-u" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/4742980/script-u</a>... Usually, you'd create a separate "player" from whose view the streaming happens, that way all the real players still have their view. The only caveat is the GM will need to set the focus by shift-pinging or the person driving the streaming will need to shift the view.&nbsp;

As a controlling player he can use the keyboard shortcut to see from any characters position.&nbsp;&nbsp; What is 'his vision' - if he has a token then that option works for him as well. There is also an API for observer, not sure what it does though. The way I would probably do it is to create vision tokens that follow the characters, in same area, using a simple modification to the marching-order API.&nbsp; Then switch between these - hopefully with an API.. but not sure how that would work.&nbsp; (Although I guess I'd include the follow as part of the API if I went that far, rather than use the modified version I use).

Even better... Give him a token that he can see from (invisible as always) and then whenever initiative changes move the token to the active characters location and follow that.&nbsp; Of course out of combat it would follow the last person it was following... so not a stand-alone solution maybe.

Aaron, do you know if your script would work okay with Tracker Jacker? To be clear, this requires the observer, who in this case is a player, on as a controlling player right?

It should work fine with Tracker Jacker, but let me know if you have problems. The way Observer works: 1) The GM toggles one of more players as Observers 2) By default, • While not in combat, the Observer player is added to all characters with a controlledby player assigned to them • While in combat, the Observer is removed from everyone except whatever currently has a turn (Settings to restrict this among only player characters, or only things with a representing character, or any token) This allows the Observer Players to present a Party View out of combat and a Turn View while in combat. &nbsp;

I set up an observer account called "Camera". This virtual player has the ability to control each PC, thus is able to use their sight. We generally only refer to the turn tracker in a casual way. I never click on it to advance a turn, just to remind me who is next, so the Observer script doesn't do much for me. The Camera log-in is done in a Private Viewing window, to reduce the chance of refresh window shenanigans. I ping pull the action from time to time, or set up system macros (Applescript) to call focus to the Camera Window as needed. The streaming app of course, pulls its video feed from the Camera Log-in.

I set the player as an observer, but then it was at a custom turn marker, they were unable to control their own token. It appears that it only grants control to the token if there is already a controlling player listed. I assume this is to tell the difference between NPCs and PCs. In any case I just added myself as a controlling player and it resolved the issue.

That's precisely right. &nbsp;That's one reason I recommend a dedicated account for the Observer.&nbsp;
