How to display monster damage to PCs without showing the bar

I want to show my PCs how much damage they have done to monsters but I do not want them to see the hp bar because I don't want them to know the monsters total hp. Is there a way to display a numerical total damage done on tokens?

/desc @{target|Monster|character_name} has taken [[ [[ @{target|Monster|bar1|max} - @{target|Monster|bar1}]] ]] damage. Should show the difference between max and current (assuming bar1 is where you keep your hp).  The double [[ ]] causes it to just be an number so no peeking at the math.
Without using the API, the only thing I can think of is setting up the hp bar differently.  You could use one bubble for the HP total (without inputting a min), and don't make it visible to the PCs.  Then you could use a separate bubble for damage done, and make that bubble visible to the PCs.  Then, when damage done  = max hp  - the monster is dead! Those settings, FYI, are found on the Advanced tab on the token settings window (visible when you double click on the token).  In the case below, the players would be able see both the Name of the creature, and the number in Bar 2. You would also need to set up the basic settings to where Bar 1 has the creature's max HP (but nothing in the second square, so a bar isn't shown), and then the same for Bar 2, just editing the bubble for how much damage has been done (here the creature's max HP is 21, and it's taken 12 points of damage so far): Another option, if you don't need exact numbers, but want to give players a rough idea of how much a creature is damaged, is to place some kind of status marker on it to show when it's at half HP (or whatever figure you decide).  In my game, I use a half-heart marker - but I also have an API script that manages that for me. Hope this helps! EDIT:  Or you could just ask The Aaron, and he'll have a much more elegant solution.  :/

Ha! Well, variety is the spice of life... (and the spice must flow!)  Always nice to see different solutions to the same problem as you never know which one might work best for someone.  =D
Thanks Aaron! I set that as a quick macro so it is super easy to show to the PCs!
