Hello everybody! Please help me out by filling in the necessary info as follows: I'm gonna need a quick confirmation from everyone that the listed time works for them (Brett, ignore this as we've discussed it privately). Our discord server link will be https://discord.gg/EhwJTrR. If you haven't used discord before and need help, let me know and I'll walk you through it. Jump in and start chatting! Our group is assigned the 'beholders' channel. Which WotC modules (if any) have you played through before? I find the WotC modules to be a great starting point for new parties, but I'd rather not make you sit through a module that you've played through before. Of course, if you wiped with a TPK in your previous experience, now's your chance for vengeance! :D Session 0 will be this Wednesday if everybody can make it. This is a crucial session. If you can't make it, please say so now and we'll reschedule. Tentative class that you would like to play? Also, do you need help rolling up a char, background story, etc? We'll be using standard array or point buy. Unless anybody has other preferences, we'll be sticking to the PHB and UA ranger. If you want to go beyond that, let me know in advance so I can read up on it. Everybody is aware that this is a paid game, right? Session 0 will be free, I'll be charging after that. Unannounced absences will be charged. Consider it a penalty for flaking out on your group and making everybody wait for you. If you know you can't make a session, let the rest of us know at least 2 days in advance so we can plan accordingly. I have a few minor houserules that I will post in a separate thread later. Nothing major, really. Long term expectations - would you like to do something, go somewhere, fight somebody? Brett has requested 9 hells at some point in the far future. I'll need advance warning so I can start planning long term story arcs. I've been looking into Fantasy Grounds, which is a Roll20 alternative. My understanding is that they automate a lot of calculations and combat stuff, making encounters go even faster. In addition, the interface plain looks nicer. So my question is - would you have any objections if we tried playing on FG instead of Roll20? It's fine to object for any reason whatsoever, if anybody does then we'll just stick with Roll20. It's free for players, so you don't pay anything else. The downside is that in exchange for quality, you need to install an app which is about 70gb in size. They support Steam. Percentage-wise, how much do you prefer your RP-combat ratio? 30-70, 40-60, 50-50, etc. And... that's it for now. Sorry for the wall of text. Regards, Dennis

3: played part of "Lost Mines of Phandelver" once and a couple homebrew campaigns 4: I will be there for session 0 5: I have quite a developed backstory ready that we can go over together to make it fit into your campaign 6: SCAG & UA: Wizards & Warlocks plz 7: More than happy to do paypal. I'm dying for a high quality campaign 8: cool 9: I'd like to progress through my guys back-story if it's interesting enough, otherwise i'm just along for the adventure 10: I'm fine with trying fantasy grounds but I don't want to commit to it without trying it -------------------------------------- 1: not available Tuesdays and Thursdays 11: I'd say start 60% combat - 40% roleplaying, then just feel it out from there. I'm not too picky
3. I have never played an official WotC module but I HAVE read through the entire LMoP module in preparation to DM a game that did not happen, so I definitely know it inside and out. I will say that Tomb of Annihiliation looks baller af, and they have had time to work out kinks with the system where Hoard and Rise were lacking (from what I hear). 4. I shall be present. 5. I'm one of those want-to-play-everything guys, so I'll see how the party forms up and go from there, but I will say I am interested in Bladelock/Cleric/Bard/Face rogue. 6. I do like some of the cool UA for Warlocks and clerics and SCAG for rogues 7. Heard. 8. Also heard. 9. Obviously I mentioned the 9 hells, but everybody loves a little background story action, especially if it's a juicy background. 10. FG looks interesting. 11. I like a steady mix, about 50/50. You get your dungeon crawls and your "Break into the manor"s in good measure.
3. I have DM'd Lost Mines, Currently DMing Storm Kings Thunder and playing through Curse of Strahd, but I haven't played LMoP or SKT so I would be fine with those. 4. I can make it 5. I have mostly always played a front liner (paladin, barbarian) so a sorcerer/warlock might be a nice change of pace. 6. thats all good with me 7. Thats fine with me, I'm more than happy to pay if it means an amazing story/gameplay 8. Should be all good 9. Nothing off the top of my head but the mysterious underdark has always interested me 10. I would rather stick with Roll20 personally 11. 50/50. I always love a good battle but when I can have some fun with my character and their personality I'm always happy.
All right, we'll nix the FG idea for now. And so far I've had requests for underdark, 9 hells, and backstory hooks. Great! Just waiting on Jordan for now.
Would have loved to run ToA, but they're releasing in 3 weeks, and we wanna start now, I gather.
What about a one (3) shot for before it comes out?

There'll be 4 sessions (i miscounted earlier) before ToA drops. Your characters will likely be level 3 or so by then. I'm willing, but it may throw the balance off some at the start. It's up to you guys. Talk it over and have a vote.
  3. I'm currently going through an altered version of Out of The Abyss with another group. 4. I should be able to make it but if something comes up I will inform you. 5. I don't really know what class I'd like to play. All I want is to play a pixie so What ever classes go good with that or compliment the rest of the party. And I will need help with char rolling. 6. No objections 7. Understood 9. Fey wild? Idk. 10. I'll look at it but I kind of already understand how roll20 works so I feel at least a bit comfortable. 11. Personally I enjoy roll play a lot but I don't really think I could put numbers to it.

3. Ive played hoard of the dragon queen but only until chapter 7 4. no problem. i'm there 5. Probably a fighter or a bard/rogue with backstory something along the lines of noble hunting after his missing brother, joined in with a mercenary guild or something under a fake name hunting for leads 9. i'm fine with anything really. maybe eventually a conclusion to my backstory hunt thing but i'm sure i'll also think of something later 10. I've never used fantasy grounds but i'm sure i'd pick it up quickly while playing 11. I'd probably say 50/50 because I find both elements of dnd equally engaging
I am fine with being level 3. Some campaigns are a little difficult at level 1 and even recommended going a level or higher like OotA.
I'm fine with some one-shots (if I will be around for them, as we discussed) plus I find it easier to make an encounter more difficult than to make them less difficult.
As we are using a Forgotten Realms Module, should I assume that we are using the FR world as well i.e. Pantheons, maps, organizations etc.
The world is more homebrew. I tend to mix and match as I go. If you have favourite elements, let me know and I'll make sure to include them.
