Quick Group Hug

Working hard on a bunch of Roll20 stuff this weekend, and as I do so I know I'm not working nearly as hard as Riley does every day. And what's cool beyond all of that is that you guys (and gals!) really make it worth it. We are stupid lucky to have this kind and intelligent community; you all have been wildly helpful as we make improvements to this system. On top of that, so many of you regularly blow us away with the wildly imaginative ways you've put the system to use. You've made this project something truly exciting and we have only just begun (it's been all of a month so far). So, thanks. We really, really appreciate it.
Let me just briefly pop in and second that. It's been great getting to know the community here over the past month. While it seems that some have come and gone already (or at least aren't posting nearly as often as they did), those of you who have stuck with us have really earned a place of respect among the development team. We look forward to continuing to work with you to make Roll20 the best virtual tabletop it can be!
Although ive not had the pleasure of actually putting the tool to use, ive played around with the campaign editor and continually read the amazing feedback that you guys have been recieving, and i have to say im really glad that i got in on the kickstarter for this project. It truly is amazing what you, the devs, and this community have managed to do for the world of VTTRPG. So to everyone involved so far, kudos. This community is going to achieve great things :)

As a long time gamer, I must say it is terribly refreshing to have access to the developers during the beta of a game platform. Most projects keep the development team (in their official capacities) away from the forums, putting community managers between the users and the engineers, as it were. Roll20 hasn't been like that... Being able to say when something is bad, or something is good, and have an actual response arrive from someone capable of influencing the site is an incredible feeling. It makes it far more worth it than in most betas, where you might post something, get a note that it has been read, but never see so much as an update on it. Here... we regularly see responses, questions asking for more details, fishing for suggestions, etc. So thank you, guys, for giving us the chance to take part in this process. Regardless of our statuses as kickstarter investors, you've gone pretty far beyond what would have been socially responsible of you, and in turn, are making your product far better because of it. Kudos to you. :)
I'm quite new here but i still want to pop in and thank the devs and everyone who helps them make this system better. It is working really well and i can see a bright future for everyone here. Thanks!
Wanted to give additional praise and thanks to Ken Bauer, Eric Dalquist, and Zach / Balladeer for jumping in full speed today with Richard Zayas on the moderation today. Made things go really, really smoothly. That and the community continuing to be filled with amazingly cool people who are reasonable and well spoken. May this luck last forever.
:)
I just came on today, and I have been very, VERY impressed. I will be Playtesting the D&D Next game here (now that Wizards have given permission for online testing), and so far the interface here is great, and I really look forward to giving this a try. When you guys decide to accept more donations, I will be first in line. Whatever I can do to keep this service going! Great job, guys!
THANK YOU for making this. I just found out about it today and peed a little when I watched the tour video. I've always wanted to get more into table top games but haven't been lucky in finding a consistent group. This is brilliant!
Roll20 is the most comprehensive, versatile and easy to use VT out there. And free, to boot! Great work, folks, you've finally made my skype games possible and enjoyable ))
Thanks Roll20 , but to be honest its start to be terrible how people can use that simple tool for make such amazing stuff! (like campaigns etc)
Unfortunately I missed you guys on Kickstarter but this thing looks INCREDIBLE! I've been trying to find a way to play over long distance and this looks like just the ticket. Will happily upgrade to premium versions in future. Keep up the great work!! :D
All this love in the room has made me wonder out loud when we might see a way to adding to your coffers and upgrading??
*hugs*
All this love in the room has made me wonder out loud when we might see a way to adding to your coffers and upgrading?? It's coming, we're just trying to figure out the BEST ways to make it worthwhile. We like that people want to spend money on us... we just want to make sure they're getting something cool in return.
I'M THROWING MY MONEY AT THE MONITOR BUT IT ISN'T WORKING! Maybe I should try the router? Nope. Oh well, better just sit back and wait. On a side note, I'm still around. Have been away for a while (holiday, jubilee, stuff) and still trying to drag people on to run a full session instead of just the 1to1s or 1to2s 'this is-a-quick-how-to-use roll20' mini sessions that I've been doing with my players (for all they are keen to play online, getting them to actually commit is like bloody-well pulling teeth!) Great news about the open beta working well, and as always looking forward to all the future updates. Cheers!
Paul, Just remain patient and you will find a group. Ive recently got myself a 5 man group (plus me as DM) for what is intended to be a long running campaign. My suggestions, use the new LFG Forum, be precise about game type and availability, give some background on your experience, your expectations and your style of DM'ing and the players who are interested will come to you :)
Just wanted to share that I ran my first Roll20 game last night - a heavily modded nWoD game. I've tried tons of VTTs in the past and not been totally happy with any of them for a wide variety of reasons. I LOVE Roll20. It provides exactly what I need and want to play my games online. Thanks, guys!
I have my IRL party wanting to play. With some of us having kids, late finishing work and other barriers causing meet-up havoc, playing on a VTT seemed a logical step, but some of them are slower to commit than others.
