Our story begins in Faerun, a major continent on the planet of Toril. A place of magic, intrigue and monsters filled with stories of fairies, elves, dwarves, kings and wizards. Faerun is a place where dragons are not so mythological and magic is not so imaginary, provided the right study tools and rituals. It is here in Faerun amid the bustle of Waterdeep, within the Castle Ward on Rainrun street where barristers, nobles, and emissaries battle with word and contract, there resides an inn not quite like any other. This inn is the Yawning Portal and it is the owner of this inn who begins our story with the recollection of six individuals who, through a twist of fate and like-minded destination, come to the budding village of Oakhurst where trouble stirs afoot and they are left with the choices of either turning a blind eye, or helping one of many villagers resolve the problem that lies at their doorstep. Whether their ambitions be altruism, glory, gold or simply an interesting story. These six individuals soon begin to unravel the village's dilemma, only after the discovery of a cacklefever outbreak, the disappearance of multiple rare saplings and certain magical fruit selling goblins which have seemingly ceased turning up. Our travellers realised then that these complications merely scratch the surface of an even larger design. After a morning of mixing in Oakhurst our traveller's pleasantries were curtailed as a chilling howl cut through the peaceful village, leaving our travellers to question if perhaps the answers to their questions might be a little closer than they realise...
