Well, just how the title suggests! When the turn order gets longer and longer a method to center the map onto a specific token of the turn order would really help the flow of the game.Looking to move around the Map and use actions for the next in line would be soo much easier on bigger maps and bigger fights! FAQ: How to handle GM-only visible tokens in the combat tracker: A normal double click should focus only the DM's vision, a shift-double could do that for all players. Like how roll20 already handles shift-ping onto the map (holding down left mousebutton) to focus all your players perspective on that specific area.
A potential problem that I see with this would be how to handle tokens on the GM layer. If a token is on the GM layer, the GM would see that it's that's token's turn, but players would see that it's the next token that is on the object layer's turn. How would you handle this situation? GM's view Player view
with shift-ping onto the map (holding down left mousebutton) you focus all you players perspective on that specific area. I think a normal double click should focus only the DM's vision, a shift-double could do that for all players
I think that this a great idea! Running mass combat would take soooo much less time scouring the map to find the monster that you're looking for!
I love the GM version of this. With large battles, especially with similar monsters (we've all done that battle with 10 orcs on a large plain) it can be hard to find where the token is. I'd also love if, when there are multi page battles, it showed a quick icon or text box when the token was on a different page than you're looking at
I would be happy enough if I could select tokens from the Initiative Tracker
This would be useful for players that have more than one characeter/token, like familiars, companions, etc.
Check out this excellent API script: https://github.com/RobinKuiper/Roll20APIScripts/tr... It will center and do a ping when its the person's turn. teak

Just a heads up though, you'll need to grab it from Git, as 1.11 is the current version in the one click installer, and it requires version 2 for shift ping.

I just checked, and this isn't actually shift pinging the map for the other players joining the game. It's moving the map for the gm, but when I log onto another computer as a player, I can't actually see the map going from player to player.
Does it move the map only for the DM and the player who's turn it is, maybe?
It was moving the map for me as a DM, but when logged in as a player on another screen it wasn't moving the view.

The API can only pull the DMs screen, not players unfortunately.

Iit can help as a work around for GM's, but the base idea still stands and would overcome the limits of the current API.

Holy necro, Batman! This is a good idea that would be very helpful, and goes beyond the scope of the API mentioned in this topic.
yeah, I still think that this idea is worth pursuing. But it never got track with the community.
