Jumping to Section Headings in Handouts

Is it possible to jump to specific section heading within handout? I have built out large dungeons and having a table of contents at the top to quickly get to the room descrtiption I need would be incredibly helpful. I know it could be done by making each room its own handout and linking to that but its much easier to keep a single running doc then having to switch to a new handout each time they enter a room.

Not that I know of.  Some people make all the separate handouts then archive all but the index handout.

I think what you would want is the  anchor tag, which has been part of html for, hmmm 20+ years.  Sadly AFAIK, it's not available for handouts or character sheets( suggestion here ). ;-(

A standard anchor would not actually function, even if we could set it up. When visiting an anchor link, the browser wants to scroll to the appropriate anchor, but the VTT doesn't work like that. Roll20 would have to essentially roll their own anchor link system... which is essentially what linking to another handout is, as Aaron described.

I didn't realize that was the problem.  Still, it's too bad this couldn't be implimented somehow.  Thanks for that clarification Brian.
Thanks for responses guess just another thing I need to upvote in suggestion.

Here is a workaround , but using it will make editing the Handout a bit tricky. (e.g. the first anchor's URL would just be #userscript-TOC1 )

So, the simplest example would be to make one handout named Index and one named Page, then put this in each of them: Page This is the Page handout Index Open the [Page] handout. Then archive the Page handout.   You can then open the Index handout and click the Page link to open the Page Handout, despite its having been archived.
That's amazing, that's aaron.
Thanks Silvyre, That was exactly what I was looking for I know it isn't pretty but that was what I was looking to do. Even if its a little janky.
