Board Games

Forgive me if this is an obvious question... has anyone ever tried Roll20 for board games? It seems to me Bloodbowl would be pretty easily accommodated by Roll20. Other games, I'm a big Talisman fan, would involve a lot of work up front to load the cards etc. but once done that would be a one time only job... I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has tried this.

Yeah, there are actually quite a few people who have done that.  Keith was saying he did Arkam Horror and several of its expansions.  I've see Settler of Catan done, Carcassonne, and I wrote a script for a friend to do Betrayal at House on the Hill.  I played a few rounds of Risk with Gauss back in the day.

I built Arkham Horror in Roll20. It was a lot of setup, and I've only had the chance to playtest it once, but it seemed to work pretty well. Thank god for custom decks.

I did HeroQuest quite quickly and effectively and planned to look at Talisman, but with the digital release of it being so accessible I never got any further with that idea. Board games are totally doable, it just depends on the amount of time and effort you are willing to put into it versus how much use you would get out of it ;)

The Arkham Horror port was quite a bit of work, but works very well.  I have been getting quite a bit of interest in it, maybe It is time to host a game. I have also ported Mayfair's Pillars of the Earth and Catalyst's (now long abandoned) Leviathans
