New Orleans: The City that Care Forgot is a World of Darkness game. I am not defining if that is a new world of darkness or an old world of darkness story because I will use a suggestion from those who wrote our beloved books. They state that those books are nothing more but a guidance and storytellers can use as much or as little information as they seem fit to their story. So, my players have to be ready that I will have a very original approach. That is why my word is going to be a rule and not what is written in one or the other book. I can assure you, that my rules will be set in stone and I will stay justful towards all players. I mean, same rules will apply to all players. Of course, don’t be scared that you will have to read large new novels of rules. Most of the technical stuff I will use from the Vampire: The Masquerade and Vampire: The Requim (20th) books. However, the story will be completely different. So, you don’t have to know what Ventrue did in middle ages in New Orleans or what Carthian Movement is. In fact, the less you know - the better. Characters: Players will start as mortals and will play mortals for awhile before their roleplay will decide where players end up: ghouls, vampires, hunters or… even ghosts (lol). Each step you make will be meaningful and will build your character’s future. Time: Game time will vary. My work schedule shifts, but I learn my schedule for a month in advance. So, I will arrange timing with my players each month. That is why it will happen on different hours and days. Also, if all group members won’t manage to get together on same days, we may have solo sessions, or split up in smaller groups for time being. But you still will be able to influence each other’s story anyway as well as the world’s. So, how often game will happen and in what kind of manner will define story itself. Application: I have high goals. I wish to gather a decent group of roleplayers (friends of mine to become) and broadcast the game audio and video in a far future if we will become an awesome team. That is why application process may appear hard. But it will actually save a lot of time to both sides and we will learn quickly if this game is what you are looking for. So, how to apply? 1. Follow instructions and complete this survey: https://s.surveyplanet.com/BkNKRx2K-x 2. Follow instructions and complete this survey: https://s.surveyplanet.com/rJMXTP3tW 3. Contact me in PM (if you followed survey instructions, you will know what to write in PM on roll20 to me). Then I will have an interview with you on discord, where you will be able to ask me all questions you may have. The last step will be participation in a pre-test game, where I will see how you match with other people and what kind of a roleplay style you have, and you will see what kind of a storyteller I am, and if you want to be in my game. It will be but a one-shot and I will challange you by randomly picked pre-made character in order to see how fast you can adapt, think and adjust. It will also help you to see how I develop characters, stories and what kind of a mind-set I have. Game will start when the group will be fully gathered and people will make their characters. Some may have game starting sooner than others, because game will be started in solo sessions. I will take applications until 30th of September, GMT+3 Midnight with a possibility to postpone the deadline or recruit new people when the story already is up and running. As we all know, people come and go in this wonderful hobby, opening new spots now and then. IMPORTANT: This is a World of Darkness game through which I will try not just present a scary supernatural world but implement tragical topics of our real life such as racism, violence, death, rape, child abuse, slavery, addictions and consiquences of that, and etc. I will do so in order to create as much of a realistic world as possible that you could have the best experience by mixing up common real life, tragics of a real life with supernatural wonders and miseries in your head. Because of topics I plan to approach, I prefer that my players wouldn’t be younger than 21 years old. No characters younger than 18 years old will be allowed as well. About me: I am a roleplayer of a medium experience. I am 27 years old in real life, and I have 8 years of experience in my pocket. I started as a text-based roleplayer and LARPer before I found out about roll20.net. I fell in love with the site, people in there and possibilities. I played in few successful campaigns. With a small push and an amazing tutoring, I grew into a storyteller myself and ran one of my own Sabbat campaigns. Now, I want to run another story. I do mistakes. I am not the best storyteller one can expect, but I really want to find a cool group of people and grow with them up. When I make the game, I am very devoted to it, to my players and to the world. The only payment I ask is feedback, understanding, respect and a small devotion as well. For example, if I ask a player to prepare something for specific date, I hope that the person will complete that. Remember: “It’s not about victory, it’s about journey!” That’s all. Hope to chat to you more soon! Better contact in PM than here on forum.
