Simple Question

How do I take a token off the GM info overlay layer and then onto the objects and tokens layer so my players an see the token?

Right click the token while on the GM layer (you can select which layer you are operating on from the floating menu to the left of the screen) and you can set what layer the token appears on.

There are also some scripts that can help.  Bump is specifically designed for doing this with the added facility that you can manipulate the token from either layer (it creates a transparent token on the other layer that has all the same features as the original, save that it's invisible, and keeps it in sync for position and such.) TokenMod can do the swap for you: !token-mod --set layer|objects

Also, the  advanced keyboard shortcuts are pretty quick. Just L quickly followed by m,o,k, or comma depending on if you want it on the map, object, gm, or dl layer.
