Help Creating a 1st level Druid

^^ decided to try my hand at making a druid but i quickly realized it is rather overwhelming if you've never taken a look at just all the crap they can do in Pathfinders so in an attempt to get one going i'm searching for someone to perhaps walk me through it via Skype. If you are willing to do so i'm trying to make a druid who will be able to fight in combat alongside her animal companion (i'm choosing Big Cat for this one.) Please leave your Skype name If you're able to assist me.
Mainly I do not understand a few things Regarding Animal Companions. Oh and I forgot to mention it's on 25 point buy.

I'd recommend reading the following: http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2m612?Guide-to-the-Cla... Scroll down to the druid section. Or direct ink: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xrMC87TpmdfjB9... Basically you want good CON and STR to start. Use your spells for self buffs. WIldshape when you get it will add to your tankiness. Melee druid stats with 25 points - I would go 16STR, 12DEX, 16CON, 8INT, 14WIS, 10CHAR I would then take a race that pumps WIS and either CON or STR and sacrifices INT or CHAR. If you can live without skills and diplomacy, you could lower CHAR and INT to gain two points in DEX (16, 14, 16, 7, 14, 8) There is a LOT that a druid can do. Focus on one style (Tank, Range, or Caster) and build from there. With tank feats like toughness, power attack, and other melee tank feats become important. Also - chose a good pet. My favorite pet, which may or may not be welcome by your GM, is a velociraptor. They are quite deadly with the number of attacks they receive. Buff them up and they become even deadlier. But, I tend to play ranged druids because a buffed pet can out tank me. -EDIT- Add in your question about animal companions and I'll do my best to answer on the forum here. Info may be useful to many.
Make sure you understand the level of optimization the DM expects and prefers. You might not need to optimize that much, or at all.
How do the attacks work for animals, Also as for the velociraptor, dinosaurs as a rule are not going to be allowed in the campaign. My lion has a bite and two claw attacks, does it use the three of them when it attacks? That seems like alot of strikes for a first level pet.
http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=755661 This is what i have so far as far as the druid goes. You can always choose something that makes fewer attacks, if that seems too powerful. You can probably even reflavor whatever it is as a lion.

I'll post the Rules as Written from Paizo ( http://paizo.com/prd/monsters/universalMonsterRule... ) on natural attacks and then answer directly: Natural Attacks Most creatures possess one or more natural attacks (attacks made without a weapon). These attacks fall into one of two categories, primary and secondary attacks. Primary attacks are made using the creature's full base attack bonus and add the creature's full Strength bonus on damage rolls. Secondary attacks are made using the creature's base attack bonus –5 and add only 1/2 the creature's Strength bonus on damage rolls. If a creature has only one natural attack, it is always made using the creature's full base attack bonus and adds 1-1/2 the creature's Strength bonus on damage rolls. This increase does not apply if the creature has multiple attacks but only takes one. If a creature has only one type of attack, but has multiple attacks per round, that attack is treated as a primary attack, regardless of its type. Table: Natural Attacks by Size lists some of the most common types of natural attacks and their classifications. Some creatures treat one or more of their attacks differently, such as dragons, which always receive 1-1/2 times their Strength bonus on damage rolls with their bite attack. These exceptions are noted in the creature's description. Creatures with natural attacks and attacks made with weapons can use both as part of a full attack action (although often a creature must forgo one natural attack for each weapon clutched in that limb, be it a claw, tentacle, or slam). Such creatures attack with their weapons normally but treat all of their natural attacks as secondary attacks during that attack, regardless of the attack's original type. Natural Attacks by Size Natural Attack Base Damage by Size* Damage Type Attack Type Fine Dim. Tiny Small Medium Large Huge Garg. Col. Bite 1 1d2 1d3 1d4 1d6 1d8 2d6 2d8 4d6 B/S/P Primary Claw — 1 1d2 1d3 1d4 1d6 1d8 2d6 2d8 B/S Primary Gore 1 1d2 1d3 1d4 1d6 1d8 2d6 2d8 4d6 P Primary Hoof, Tentacle, Wing — 1 1d2 1d3 1d4 1d6 1d8 2d6 2d8 B Secondary Pincers, Tail Slap 1 1d2 1d3 1d4 1d6 1d8 2d6 2d8 4d6 B Secondary Slam — 1 1d2 1d3 1d4 1d6 1d8 2d6 2d8 B Primary Sting — 1 1d2 1d3 1d4 1d6 1d8 2d6 2d8 P Primary Talons — 1 1d2 1d3 1d4 1d6 1d8 2d6 2d8 S Primary Other — 1 1d2 1d3 1d4 1d6 1d8 2d6 2d8 B/S/P Secondary * Individual creatures vary from this value as appropriate. The Damage Type column refers to the sort of damage that the natural attack typically deals: bludgeoning (B), slashing (S), or piercing (P). Some attacks deal damage of more than one type, depending on the creature. In such cases all the damage is considered to be of all listed types for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction. Some fey, humanoids, monstrous humanoids, and outsiders do not possess natural attacks. These creatures can make unarmed strikes, but treat them as weapons for the purpose of determining attack bonuses, and they must use the two-weapon fighting rules when making attacks with both hands. See Table: Natural Attacks by Size for typical damage values for natural attacks by creature size. Format : bite +5 (1d6+1), 2 claws +5 (1d4+2), 4 tentacles +0 (1d4+1); Location : Melee and Ranged. ----- So - yes. It gets one bite and two claw attacks per FULL attack round. If it moves and attacks, it can only make a standard attack (one of the three). Here's a thread with good clarification: http://www.giantitp.com/forums/archive/index.php?t...
^ that was really helpful, I think the only other thing that threw me off was how disorganized that little sheet for it i posted. However i think i can fix that myself
