5e OGL character sheet, 1d4 Bless on saving throws yields no results

Firefox 56.0 -> no extensions, cache cleared Mac OSX 10.10.5 Query Advantage Rolls turned on show Global Save Modifier turned on show Global Attack Modifier turned on using 5e OGL/SRD character sheet Attribute saving throws made from the character sheet CORE page will output expected results to the chat window via Normal, Advantage, or Disadvantage query selections. However, when 1d4 (Bless) is checked within the Saving Throw block, save attempts from the sheet will not output any values to the chat window regardless of roll type selection. This problem does not occur when using the 1d4(Bless) checkbox for Global Attack Modifier; the chat window output is correct. Chris in Canada
Hi Chris A. Is the text within the Global Save modifier gray? If so it is likely that there is nothing there to modify a roll. 1d4[Bless] is actually a placeholder in order to provide an example.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, The Global Save Modifier text is slightly grayer than its surroundings. I find it difficult to believe that the Bless function was implemented for the Attack Modifier but not the Save Modifier. The fact that selecting the Bless within the Saving Throws prevents any checks from being executed is also troubling, especially in light of the descriptive text on the Game Settings page. It does not suggest that the feature is a place-holder for future functionality. update -> trying the same Global Save selection of Bless in the same game now yields the following error in the chat window. best regards, Chris in Canada

I think you misunderstand. Placeholder text in the Global Save Modifier (GSM) field is just example text to show you how to enter information in the field; it's not really a value in the field. Bless is not "built in" to the sheet; you need to type the actual modifier you want in there. When you do, it will not be grayed out and should apply to your rolls. Oh and you also need to check the checkbox next to GSM to have it apply.
Hello Rabulias, I did misunderstand. I have edited the associated field on the sheet. The solution is not obvious to a newcomer. With the example text being identical to prompt text (which performs as expected) elsewhere on the same sheet, yet only slightly different in intensity, there is no clue for action. Had the Save Modifier example/placeholder entry been "add Bless die here", appropriate behaviour would have been readily apparent. regards Chris in Canada
Yes, if one is not familiar with HTML placeholder text, it can be easy to misunderstand. Maybe the placeholder text could be italicized and/or in a different color than gray (like blue), and a note on the sheet that says something like "Italicized and/or blue text is for example only. Enter your own values in these fields."
