Favorite System for Scifi Campaigns

Hit me! I am in the process of fleshing out a campaign, but I am not sure yet on the system so I am open to suggestions.
What kind of sci-fi? I'd give different answers depending on hard sci-fi or space opera or a mercantile game. What's the campaign about?
For me it's Hero System...mind you, it's my favorite system for pretty much everything.... https://www.herogames.com/browse.htm
Given that you have a campaign in mind, it may not work out, but I've had loads of fun using Sufficiently Advanced. As others have mentioned, if you can share more info on the type of game you're hoping to run, more directed suggestions can be made.
I'm with Dave D on this. Are we talking cyberpunk future, space opera, apocalyptic...?
If you're looking at something you're building freeform and are looking at a serious and detailed (VERY detailed) system, GURPs works for that... but if your looking for something a bit more light-hearted and less hair-trigger on the rules (which is my preference) I'd suggest looking into d20 modern, future expansion. Or Big Eyes, Small Mouth (BESM) Otherwise I think Dark Heresy is a pretty wicked Sci-Fi system, but that's also a campaign setting as well.
Star Siege, by TLG. Also functions as a generic ruleset, and completely compatible w/their other games. (Castles and Crusades, and the pulp one that i'm not recalling at the moment.) Also a dead game. You can still get it, but 'Keeping up w/the Gygaxes' isn't an issue. Make your own feats/effects, simple resolution.
