Map Scrolling and Tokens are slow and Lagging on Mac Desktop.

So I've been using Roll 20 for a while and best I can tell this is a recent problem that's come up for me, my players computer set ups have never been overly well optimized, but at least for my part I didn't have this heavy map and token lag. Sometimes when I'm out, I'll add things to my 3.5 campaign from a PC and I don't have the same issue, but it's my mac I play on and that's started lagging. I've been going through the forums trying to find something that'll help, I've been to the help wiki and tried optimizing things more, turning off grid, looking at maps that are smaller, or have a lot less in the way props on them, tables chairs etc. But nothings been helping, I'm getting this lag regardless of when it's just me or when everyones playing. I'm Currently running Roll 20 on Google Chrome, which says it's up to date,  and my computer is a  iMac from late 2012 I'm currently running MacOS High Sierra Version 10.13.1, I have 16 GB of ram and best I can tell from your Help wiki I should have more then enough for graphics to run moderates maps. I'm currently preparing for a game on the 29th which is supposed to be a special birthday get together with 2 new players so any help resolving this issues would be appreciated.

Hi, I'm playing on a Mac as well, and despite the fact that Safari officially is not supported, I mainly play on Safari. I'm the DM of a rather complex campaign with medium-sized maps, where I use dynamic lighting etc. without any severe lags. I have an iMac late 2012 (27") as well, by the way, so I assume we are running nearly the same hardware. So have you tried Safari or Firefox instead?

Okay so a few things off the bat here, When I switched to Safari as Arthur suggested it was instantly a whole lot smoother, even on my bigger more complex maps, the down side though, was that since I'd been doing a lot of tokens and map work on Google Chrome, now when I use Safari&nbsp; some of my premade token images no longer load, something like a third of my monsters I've been working on won't show up on the map and just in my journal with their names and a question mark for the image. I swap back to Google Chrome they're all there and visible again, secondly I'm getting using safari mean I can't use the roll 20 voice and video chat yes? I've gone through the 3 steps, my browsers are up to date, I deleted my caches and made sure I didn't have any extensions on but no dice. I downloaded firefox to test it with google Chrome but that was even worse, Firefox didn't want anything to do with Roll 20, I got as far as trying to load into my game but it just sat on a black loading screen. So moving on to the bug report I guess. I'm using Google Chrome, version: 62.0.3202.94. Yes the assets are from my own upload, and they don''t show up on the map when I try to drop them from my token list&nbsp; when I'm on my safari browser. The weird thing is that those images only don't show in Safari, They are all still in my recent uploads bar on the right side but if I'm on Safari they just show up as blue question marks and same for the tokens they're supposed to be linked too when I looked in my tokens list. If I'm in Google Chrome, I see them just fine in the recent uploads tab, and the tokens look as they should. I tried opening my map page on both Safari and chrome at the same time, and the tokens that weren't showing in safari were showing fine in Google Chrome, albeit with the map lag. And I will try toggling the Hardware Acceleration when I get back to my computer later, but how exactly do I go about that on a mac? I'm just not familiar with what that entails. Thanks.

On Chrome, Click on the menu icon in the upper right hand corner of the window (looks like three vertical dots). Choose "Settings" on the window that comes up, click "advanced" at the bottom. toggle the setting under "system" that says "Use hardware acceleration when available". But first, try Firefox Quantum. I've been seeing pretty consistent degradation in Chrome performance lately, and Quantum was light years better. Instant convert.

Okay so I turned off the hardware acceleration and that seems to have it running as smoothly as it does on Safari, the Map lag seem pretty well fixed. Hopefully that holds for when I have player too. Thanks guys.
