[Meta] It occurred to me after the game, Ron can’t technically use Greater Invisibility yet since he is a level 6 wizard, level 1 cleric. He can have it in his spellbook, but he can’t have it memorized. However, you guys will be level 8 very, very soon so the problem will be remedied shortly. [Start] The party started in the palace in the Seat of Shrave, where Iggy met up with them. She apologized for previous issues, and introduced the party to their new bodyguards, 6 thuggish looking folks with scars, eye-patches, etc all wielding maces and heavy crossbows. Additionally, with the bodyguards were two Dree wizards, both middle of the road casters. They announced they were there to protect the party within the palace walls, and the insight check confirmed that was sort of true, but slightly misleading. Traveling towards their diplomat quarters, they arrived in a circular room with several nobles. Upon inspection, Rurric noticed they looked almost too similar, and had no markings that showed their house, titles, or anything else. As the party moved through, Rurric went up to confront two them. Combat ensued, with the nobles attacking the party with daggers, and one of the Dree Wizards shouting, “No, you can’t have them. They belong to US!” and began casting spells at the nobles. Rurric summoned two toads and turned into a cave bear, but was immediately beset upon all sides by nobles using daggers and getting sneak attack damage. The damage dropped him out of bear form into his druid form in a turn. The party began attacking the nobles, even as one of them fireballed the entire group, including the bodyguards (4 of the thugs went down). Having cleared out most of the nobles, the Dree wizards turned on the party, and the party managed to take down both the spellcasting noble and their bodyguards. Somewhere in the fray, the Iggy was incinerated. The party took one Dree wizard and the spellcasting noble hostage. Ron searched them and found two sets of three scrolls, that were permits, a “Bounty”, a “Kill Order”, and a “Revocation of Freedom Declaration” for the party. He found some other magic and loot as well. On the way back to their quarters a young green dragon (Jiarrig the Longtail) harassed them a bit. They made it into their quarters, with the 6 Dravens guards looking like they hadn’t slept the night before, inside a single diplomat remained, Crolinur Ludri. They interrogated the prisoners, with Rurrick now being a giant snake. The Dree wizard seemed to be a bounty hunter, and begged for his life, offering his services to the party. Urd’s scimitar declined the offer, then Rurrick started eating him. The noble magic-user was a follower of Tiamatt and just angrily threatened them until Cassius slammed her head into a table, knocking her unconscious. During the interrogation, Ron looked through the spellbooks and the permits, as well as identified the magic items. Listed on the permits are: Ailekk, Aarakocra of Dravens (Bounty, Kill, and Enslavement) Rurrick, druid Nard, of filthy disposition and hygiene (Bounty, Kill, and Enslavement) Urd Sahiva (Bounty, Kill, and Enslavement) Cassius the Tiefling and Knight of Bahamut (Bounty, Kill, and Enslavement) Captain Swell, gambler and swindler (Bounty and Kill) Captain Reis, Kantunian bard (Kill) There are dates listed for when each was given. The bounties were issued in two months ago, just after the party’s killing of Prince Raffolk. The kill orders were issued after the defeat of the Claws of Tiamatt in Guildstown, just a couple weeks ago. The revocations of freedoms were issued for Ailekk, Rurrick, Urd, and Cassius, upon their entrance to Dree, sometime yesterday. Ron’s name appears nowhere on the lists. As they were looking at the lists, Cassius’ name disappeared from the Enslavement scroll as they watched, but was still listed on the Bounty and Kill lists. Ron did an arcane inspection of the scrolls and could tell the scrolls were magically linked to some “master” lists on the other side by some powerful transmutation (not illusion) magic that actually changed the scrolls as changes were made to the master lists. The magic items/valuables they found included: Potion of supreme healing Potion of greater healing Potion of climbing 2 x +1 daggers Fine symbol of Tiamatt worth 250 gold. After a short rest, they decided to leave. Rurrick scrawled a message in druidic to Anna, letting her know they were leaving. The party said their goodbyes to a slave to deliver to the diplomats, and left the palace. They traveled four hours southeast of the Seat of Shrave and were making their way through Grand Dree when they were beset upon by a mage, two minotaurs wearing magical collars, and four veteran soldiers. They attacked the party after demanding their surrender. The soldiers took after Urd and Ailekk, doing a bit of damage. The minotaurs charged with one of them eviscerating a guard with its gore attack, and the other gored Ailekk. The party began attacking, with Rurrick summoning lightning, Cassius attacking, Urd doing crit damage, and Ailekk doing his thing, including a lightning javelin. Cassius and Ailekk went after her, taking a cone of cold for their troubles. Ron used greater invisibility on Urd and then cast a fireball, thinning out the melee opponents. Urd stabbed his way through the front lines, now invisible and getting advantage on all attacks. The game ended with two minotaurs, one soldier, and the mage remaining, it was the mage’s turn who was casting a fireball with Ron now in range for a counterspell. Turn Order is Soldier 20, Minotaur 18, Rurrick 17, Guards 15, Ailekk 13, Cassius, 11, Ron 7, Urd 6, and Mage 6.
