Gm Update

We will have next game as normal except I need to talk to the group for a while before the game starts to give you an run down on what is going on with my life. I don't want to worry anyone, the game is not ending. However for a while at least (several months), I will be unable to attend every week. Looks like I will miss about 1 or 2 week a month. I will fully explain on Wednesday.
Hope everything is okay, man.
More Bad news Most likely we will be not be able to game tonight.  However, I will still be online today at the normal start time and I would like everyone there. . I want to talk to everyone for about 15-30 minutes so I can explain what is going on in my life and the future of this game. If we are lucky and things go very well today, there is a small chance we will be able to game tonight.  I will keep you updated (here) as I know more.
I understand that people could not make it, that is part of the reason why I wanted to talk. :) Since not all could make it,  I want to let everyone know what is going on in my life and the how it effects the future of this game What is going on in my life My wife was just diagnosis with a major medical illness, but at this point is appears treatable. However, it is going to take at least 2 surgeries, if not more; and possibility Chemo. Therefore, my focus and priority are caring for my wife as she goes through this. Her care is going to be a marathon not a sprint as such I do intend to continue this game (continuing a hobby, doctor's recommendation for both of us). Right now with this and the holidays my life is crazy and ever changing so it makes setting game times difficult right now. I want to pause and continue this game after the holidays, but I understand If anyone does not want to wait. Right now, I am a seeing three futures for this game. We take a break until January (estimated game Jan 3 or 10) and then continue the game as best we can. If I need to care for my wife, then I will need cancel the game that week; but other than that I would continuing the game as much as possible. We take a break from the game until this over and then we continue the game with more regular sessions.  We end the game now and I start it over once all this over, hopefully with original players. You all know how much I love doing this for let me assure I will continue this game in some form but I hope for option 1. If anyone has anything they would like to say, please post it here or PM me if you want it private; but please tell me is you prefer 2 or 3. I will not be offended, I would rather know the truth. If thing go well and time allows it, I will offer a game in December.
I am terribly sorry to hear that your family is going through something like this. I send you my best wishes and hope for things to get better as smoothly as humanly possible for you. In dealing with the game, I would prefer the first option. I love this game and the people who play it and if its still possible to play I'm going to vote for that. That said, I'm admittedly glad for a small hiatus with the holidays being upon us and hope we can all resume once more in January with things at least slightly more settled for everyone.
As fyre said I wish you and yours the best and hope for a full recovery. We understand that your family's health must come first in priorities and this is just a hobby.  my vote will he for option 1 but it is my experience on roll 20 that such a hiatus is a death sentence for most games. I hope that I'm wrong but that is what has been my experience.
As Fyre and Traskus have said, I wish your family the best, and it's completely understandable where your priorities lie.  Also, like they said, I support option 1, as I love this group and really want to continue playing it with all of you.
My thoughts are with you and your family. You have completely altered my perception of a good GM and I am forever thankful for that. As was brought up the other day in Discord, it is my understanding that the best thing for family members to do is to continue on with life as normal as best they can. In that spirit, I vote for option 1 in hopes that it provides a sense of stability and normalcy to your life. If things get to hard, then I fully support any decision to postpone the game for an indefinite period of time.

Good News, Good News, and Bad News.   Good News We got my wife's test results back and it was all good (Stage 1).  It looks like this is only going to require a single surgery with no chemo.   Good News Because my wife could not get an appointment to meet with the doctor to schedule the surgery until the 19th (we are not mad about this, it is because we are considered low risk now :) ), I can do a game this week (12/13/17), and unless some bad happens next week on "19th" appointment (almost 0% chance) then I can game the following week (12/20/17) as well. Bad News The surgery will mostly likely be the last week of December or early Jan.  After the surgery, there will be a 4-6 week recovery time(Fyi, I have help with her care).  Most likely I will be able to game the 3rd week after surgery, but it could be longer.  That means when you combine this with holidays, these 2 nights (12/13/17, 12/20/17) are our only chances at a game for a month, maybe longer.   Please let me know if you think you can make one or both of the nights I have listed. :)
Hey, that's great to hear, man!  Glad it's all looking good!  As of now,  I am available for both of those dates, and I'll let you know if anything changes.
I'm so glad to hear that things are looking good for you guys. It's great that the game can continue but definitely more important that you and your wife got good news like that.
