CLOSED: [LFP] Dresden Files Accelerated: Pulp Fiction (Weekly, Voice, Odd Hours, Flexible Day

https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/96729/dresden-f... This is going to be a different type of game. I chose the name PULP FICTION because that's sort of what I'm shooting for. Short, fun, intense stories that sort of rotate from one to another, like the episodes of a television show, or magazine story. Many games seem to lose steam after a few weeks, flounder, then fail. Or I never seem to find the type of game I want to play in. I always end up running but never get to play myself. I'm sure I'm not the only one. So this game is going to try something that's worked for me in face to face games. Everyone GM's and Everyone gets to play. The idea is that we'll run a Dresden Files Accelerated game, but with rotating GM's. One GM's will start us off, and run a story. When he or she is done with their story, another player will take over as the GM. Everyone will continue to play the characters that they made at the start of the game. The Game Master will change, but the characters will stay the same. So this game will be more collaborative than most. A few things before posting your applications: 1. If you aren't willing to take the reins and GM a story or two, you probably shouldn't apply. You don't have to know the system. You don't have to commit to running anytime soon, but you should at least be open to the idea. 2. I know the timeslot is kind of crazy. I live in Hawaii and only have time for a late night game. Hopefully, it works for some people. 3. I tend to favor higher-powered, concepts and games. I like characters who can get things done without a lot of handholding, and who are proactive and don't need to be led around by the nose. I guess I also favor more Sandbox type settings. If you aren't familiar with the Dresden Files Universe, that's probably okay. The Dresden Files is pretty much a modern Urban Fantasy setting. Wizards, witches, vampires, werewolves, demons and other strangeness exist, hidden in our world.
I was in Hawaii and that’s how I started! Let me know when is good and I will see what it looks like EST.
I really like the sound of this, I GM but have never had the chance to play in the Dresdenverse! I'm NZ time, so can very likely fit in with the time
being in the frozen north, I can't play unfortunately. best of luck though.
So we've settled on Thursday Nights at 8 PM Hawaii time if anyone is interested in joining. We have a couple of spots still open. We're using Dresden Files Accelerated, with a bit higher point total (6 Refresh instead of 3). The setting is Hawaii, at about the time of Dead Beat.
I can make that work. Still got room?

The time-zone is totally bad for me, heheh. If you will permit me some <airing of views> , I noticed quite a few Fate Core games fizzle out. Sometimes I was in the ship when it sank. Sometimes there's not enough roleplaying GM skill that has been transferred to the new games. There's always an initial phase where you can launch very basic "monster of the week" plots, or whatever you want. But after that it's crucial to involve details of the character backgrounds that you have determined, to work them into the storylines. Likewise, players have preferences for either combat (which Fate Core models only fuzzily), storytelling, role-playing, intrigue. You figure out what each player wants, what they respond to, and can tailor adventures somewhat. A planned simple plot can be delivered in so many ways as to this preference and as to different campaign moods. Keep things moving, be interesting, use Roll20 to the fullest to display some picture handouts and maps (which only need to be broken up into the most basic of Zones) although you may never have to worry about moving around character Tokens with any great precision. All these things will keep players coming back. </airing of views>
