3. Tales from Gaia : GM: Me (Ben). I have only just begun playing and GMing Fate, but have about 6-7 years of experience playing and running various systems. I believe that Fate is the right system for my GM style, although the potential for what can be done within Fate, means I still have room to grow as a GM for this system. Description: Tales from Gaia is a homebrew world of my creation that I have adapted for the Fate Core rules. It is a diverse fantasy world where magic and fantastic creatures are prevalent while still remaining rare and special. It has many human cultures, fantastic races, and locations, but has plenty of room for player input for worldbuilding. Stories in Gaia can be epic or personal, lighthearted or dark, political or sword and sorcery, depending on player taste. I think it will be familiar enough for players who love fantasy, but with enough of my personal twist to not feel utterly generic. Length/Sessions: I am not sure if the races or the rules for magic are balanced and so I still consider it to be "in playtest." To begin, I would like to play one-shots with different characters to test out what I have created and to get a feel for the game. (And for me to get a feel for GMing Fate). Each one-shot's length will be dependent and variable although I am guessing 2-4 four hour sessions a piece. Hoping to eventually transition into running a longer campaign, once I feel more comfortable with the setting. Schedule/Players: Right now, I have two players with a third that might return at a later date. We are scheduled to play the first and third Sundays of every month from 9AM to 1PM EST (GMT -5). I am looking for 1-2 players for that group. I am also potentially interested in running a second group on Thursdays of the alternating weeks (second and fourth) of each month. The time on Thursdays could be a little more variable (9AM-1PM is preferable, but 10-2 or 11-3 are also options). I am looking to have 4-5 players in that group. My ideal group size is 3 or 4 players, but I know that with Roll20, it is common for players to drop out before playing for varying reasons. Clients: Roll20 for the tabletop, of course. I am planning on doing voice only, though if there was a complete consensus within the group, I would do video as well. I have a Discord server, although I prefer to use Skype as I have found it more reliable for certain long-distance players. Back to the drawing board.
