D&D 5e monster compendium damage rolls.

Not sure if it just my game or not, or if this issue has even come up, but whenever my players use creatures from the compendium for wild shape or animal companions the damage won't roll properly unless auto roll damage is turned on for the sheet or we manually change the damage formula.  Currently, when using a monster from compendium the damage formula is as follows: XdY + Z instead of XdY+Z which is fine when auto roll is on, but when manually doing it, like some players and DM's prefer, it causes issues.

Justin H. said: it causes issues. Hi Justin, thanks for the report. Rather than just throw the boiler plate at you could you expand upon the issues found, recreation steps and specific sheets to check would be great to check for site-wide issues? Thanks
As to the specific sheets, it has so far been the D&D 5e compendium sheets.  After making NPC sheets out of appropriate monsters for the Druid wild shape (level2-3 player) feature and assigning the sheet to said player I mark the sheet to not roll damage and crits automatically.  This causes the issue of the damage calculation to not roll at all.  If the option for automatic rolls of damage is selected, the sheets roll fine.  The issues caused is simply it will not roll damage if you set the monster sheet to normal.  This happens on the player end, and occasionally on the DM end.  The issue appears to be caused by spaces added into the calculation (i.e. 1d6_+_2)  _ = spaces.

Sorry to keep asking potentially silly questions but i'm not quite following the issue, when I create a sheet from the compendium and set the damage to not auto-roll then the damage won't roll at all, that's what that setting does. To get damage to roll after a hit has been confirmed you click on the weapon name in the chat and damage will be added. I've tested this with damage rolls containing spaces and those that don't with no problems: This picture shows the base attack with auto-damage rolls off. This picture shows the same attack but this time I have clicked on the word 'Claw' to trigger the damage roll. How are you and your players attempting to roll for damage with auto rolls turned off?
I apologize for the confusion.  The damage will roll blank when the attack name is clicked by my player.  It'll say "damage:  " with no value in it.

Ahhh, ok cool. No apologies necessary, I just wanted to eliminate easy fixes but that certainly sounds like an issue to explore further! Could you grab a screen shot of the monsters sheet/sheet settings and the resultant issue in action and then follow the below steps (it would be useful to get the affected player to follow the steps too to see if there is a common problem or purely client side issue): Step 1: Make sure to use the right browser Please check if these issues persist when using both Chrome and Firefox. Step 2: Ensure that there are no extensions/addons interfering with Roll20 Please disable all add-ons/extensions and anti-virus programs. Step 3: Clear your cache If none of the above succeeds, please thoroughly work through Step 4 . (Don't forget the complete Console Log!) Thank you!
