Notecard/index cards

Score + 51
I have played quite a few games where writable notecards(flash cards/index cards) would have been super useful. Especially if the gm could assign access to a specific player or to all players. Also if they were flipable objects. As it stands grouping text boxes on to white objects have issues. I habe wanted index cards added for some time but after watching Adam on the official roll20 stream struggle the same way i have i decided to ask.

Can you use the Card Decks feature for this? And if not, could you describe more about the differences in what you want to accomplish? Wiki docs, https://wiki.roll20.net/Collections#Creating_.26_E... The idea is to have writable index cards. It would work like a handout, that you can drag on to the map, and would display the contents right there on the map like a post-it note or index card. You could pick the card up and hold it in your hand, like a card, or pass it to another player. The most important feature is the writable part: You can edit it by clicking or or maybe right-clicking the card, and typing new text in it, without having to open a handout.

Ugh, 3 years old too. Do the devs ever even act on these suggestions?
GG has the right of what im looking for
I would vote for this feature, if there was a voting system in place. I'm not alone, a quick search shows up 6 other threads over the past 4 years for this: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/578376/request-i... https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1861351/public-a... https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1101021/some-que... https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1292722/allow-te... https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/2496964/blank-ca... https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/4438148/editable... A card deck with text overlayed on top of the image would be ideal, but I think just having a text block that can be resized and styled with a background color and border would fit most people's needs for this.

there are quite a few threads regarding some variation on this request. I think the generally summary would be "index card/sticky". It seems that they, for the most part die out, and then come back from another person, and again die out. I'm glad that its been noticed in this thread. I'd vote a billion times for this since this is one of the most useful tools on any physical table. So many games need them, so many GMs use them. It would be mind bogglingly useful in roll20 in so many different ways. There's so much versatility in just having some kind of object I can drag on to the table and write on, without fiddly workarounds like dropping text onto a shape. Take powerpoint as a reference - you drag a shape onto the slide, double click on it, and now what you type appears inside that shape, and stays with that shape wherever you put it, editable as needed with a double click. It wouldn't need to be exactly like this, but something approaching it would be worth its weight in gold (Apologies if I've missed a more recent one and have necro'd this one back)
This is essential to playing Fate games.

At last, Roll20 is making their first stab at Card Deck feature upgrades, but not really Index Cards yet. Look at what they're doing so far & write your comments to let them know if this satisfies your gaming needs? https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/9666280/card-deck-bulk-upload-bugs-and-feedback-thread Say what you want Cards to be able to do.
