"Quantum" rolls aren't.

Has anyone else had problems with the quantum rolling generating the same exact number 7-8 times in a row and then doing the same with a second number immediately afterward?

No, but back when I first joined, I did tests of large numbers of rolls to seek for bias, and found none. A string of repeats is possible, but could be due to the way the roll macro is phrased, or just an unusual happenstance. It could also be an issue of confirmation bias (i.e. remembering things that irk you, but ignoring those that don't). If there were a real pattern of non-random rolling, believe me, it would be a big topic here. There are enough math wonks and coding gurus to raise a fit were this to be proved. Do you have a log of the rolls and the macros that produced them?
Thank you for pointing out the potential of confirmation bias. Most people never even think it to be a possibility. Also, I have noticed that it happens far more often when the roll is phrased as "/roll d20" rather than "/roll 1d20". As for the log. I can't access too much of it currently since I am new to this particular game group, who have been complaining about the quantum rolls all evening. I was just wondering if it was localized and potentially just a temporary hiccup in the system.

The QuantumRoll page of the Roll20 Wiki is definitely worth checking out. QuantumRoll is actually more random than physical dice . In addition to the behind-the-scenes upgrades, QuantumRoll introduces a new site-wide "status dashboard" showing all the rolls being made in Roll20 games for the last hour, including important statistics about them such as the median roll (an important measure of randomness), and how many times each result has been rolled. This is a great way to make sure that the dice rolls in Roll20 are performing as intended. It also helps re-assure players that even if they're having a rough roll night, the system is not broken. You view the status dashboard at <a href="https://app.roll20.net/home/quantum" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/home/quantum</a> .
