Starting My First Campaign on here, suggetions.

Hi everyone, firstly I would like to say thank you to anyone who is going to be reading this! Second, yikes. So I started "The Curse of Strahd" sometime towards the end of 2017, and so far I have only been using mats, minis, ect. I love being able to continue to play like that, but I feel switching it over to Roll20 would make things on me easier, and everyone else less chaotic as there would be no mess of papers and this GIANT mat taking over the table lol. SO my question is what would you suggest that would make this transition easier both on me and my players? We have only just begun grazing the surface on this campaign so it's not like we are pretty in depth with it, just throwing that out there as well.

I GM'ed a game offline before transitioning to Roll20 and the Players loved that the game "space" of Roll20 allowed them to keep everything there and not have to lug around books/dice/etc. Suggestions; If possible, have everyone setup their Roll20 accounts as a group, that way if anyone has a problem it is solved as a group. Also, fill in the character sheets as a group, so everything gets transferred over and if there is any differences between the paper sheet and the Roll20 sheet it can be ironed out more easily. Test the setup multiple times.
All but one of my players doesn't have Roll20 set up, my group and my self also plays another 3.5 campaign but on Roll20, and that's making me want to make the change! lol Do you think keeping a copy of a paper character sheet would be a bad thing? Just keep they in a binder away unless someone needs it

You might enjoy reading this wiki article on playing in person with Roll20: https://wiki.roll20.net/Using_Roll20_while_Playing... Also, if you're playing Curse of Strahd, there's a Module for that if you don't mind spending the $50 for it, it will probably save you 50-100 hours of prepping maps (depending on how detailed you like to make things).
Try to build a small encounter or one-shot and feel the ropes before you try to import your campaign. And as The Aaron said: The module contains everything you will need to run Curse of Stradh. Perhaps your players can chip in and you buy it as a group?

It is also recommended that the creator (usually the one who purchases the module) of the game to become a subscriber so the additional features are enabled (they are setup but not enabled unless the creator of the game is subscribed).
Thanks everyone! Will definitely be purchasing the Module, would love to not spend forever working on it.
