Greetings my fellow adventurers! I do know there is a lot of text, but bare with me because i do want you to read it all! A little about me; My name is Tim, and hopefully i shall be your DM in the next year or so! I am currently 24, and i have been playing tabletop RPGs for about 3 years. During these 3 years i have played around 3500 hours of ONLINE and IRL games. My first session was the only in a long time i would actually play as a PC because after that we had noone to DM for us which led to me taking up that mantle. So since session 2 and onwards i have been the DM for almost all my groups. This is not because i don't enjoy playing, but simply i enjoy DMing more than playing. The games i have played are pathfinder, Fantasy!, blades in the dark and then Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition. I must say that 5e is the system i prefer, even though i do major changes to the system in my own games. I'm a university student studying towards becoming a teacher, and am also a substitute teacher on the days that uni doesn't have lectures. I do believe that the teaching aspect of my life helps majorly when it comes to DnD, especially bringing new people on! I am currently playing in 2 offline groups where we are testing games (mainly Swedish released games). I am also running 2 online pay to play campaigns which have been a huge success so far! Why payment? What i offer is quality, effort, experience and a stable group. These things may be possible to find out there online but it isn't easy. As i am currently running 2 paid campaigns, my own experience is that the people that come and join these campaigns have a different mindset than people joining the free games. They invest into this campaign, and thusly they also want it to be as good as possible. You have people who want to be immersed into the game, and a DM who knows how to create this immersion, then you have a really good game. Thusly, i take payment because i believe the quality and effort i put into the game combined with the atmosphere i am able to create in my games are worth paying for. What do you pay for then? An experienced DM who knows how to create an immersive, gritty, realistic and epic adventure A fleshed out homebrew world, and with your help there will be an even more thicker feeling to the world A chance to add your own ideas into an already existing world One or several "quest archs" with your character in the driving seat Someone who is enthusiastic about DnD to the point of where he will spend loads of time on a campaign to make it as perfect as possible for his players A campaign filled with lore, plottwists, NPCs with their own drives and goals A biological world that you can affect with your interactions A co-operative sandbox world with as many choices to it as you can think of, though with enough structure for you to enjoy the quests within, just that you chose what quests you want to take part of Customized/homebrewed magical items A new pantheon that coexists with the old (forgotten realms) one. Dynamic lightning on all the battle maps Old school dungeon crawling with puzzles and riddles (and of course monster slaying) I offer you a new way to level your characters where instead of the linear development of a class, you will be able to use the class as a skilltree more than anything else. I offer a new way for skillpoints and feats to be gained where you also will be able to go above 20 in an attribute at level 9 and beyond and you will have access to multiple feats for your character. The intro to the campaign; The nights grew longer. The fire doesn’t keep you warm anymore. The sounds….oh the crooked sounds you hear when the darkness comes. For close to a month, the suns have turned grey and cold. The crops now starting to fail due to there not being enough nourishment for them. In the depths of the darkness, eyes watching you, waiting for you to step out of the light so they can feast on your beloved flesh. Adventurers have tried to fight it, the venture out into the darkness. Now they lay in shallow graves. Run, hide, it doesn’t matter. The darkness reaches everywhere. Oh...the crooked sounds you hear from within the darkness. It makes your hairs stand up, your hands shake and your will is broken. Gael has for close to a month been plagued by this unnerving darkness. For a time, nobody thought much of it. But once people started to disappear and show up dead, torn to pieces measurements were taken. Though it didn’t help, and once the first wave was broken panic spread. There has been a call to arms from many of the kingdoms, marshall law has been instated and there are not many left who dare to fight whatever is out there in the darkness. Those who are brave, or perhaps stupid, are branded as maniacs and suicidals. In a large council room in the capital of Pavia stand or sit 28 different people. They are what is left of the resistance. Of those who still believe that they can win this. They have had word, word that there is still chance to win. An old frail man comes in with a large tome in his hands. As the tome hits the table, dust flies all around. It has been said that the tome contains a prophecy. A prophecy that speaks of the darkness, but also how to get rid of it. We are the resistance, and we will never give up on the people even if they have given up on us. We shall fight this to the bitter end. “Sit down, and listen carefully, for i shall read you this prophecy once, and only once” the old man says before he opens the book. A surge of magical power comes out, the lights flicker and he starts to read, his wors echoing in the small chamber. Olith era agram. Huhar tyvera graf. Worb Klasch izchra. Konbro, Tvind, Quer, Vilera, Zandir. Berda ollia tyrh. Oer plascia rewor. Verth alwa opre. Jora kuliath X'rahGen. Wareg Igorian Aleth Hayth Blure Sarem. Cryth Reg Ymera." The campaign IS RUNNING, and we are currently level 5 and there HAS been more things happening than this. If it sounds intriguing i will fill you in more. The campaign will revolve around the party as they are tasked with dealing with the darkness and what lies within. BE AWARE, there are probably too many main quests/secondary quests for you to do them all. This campaign can run till 20, and it can end or change whenever the players feel like a need of chance. My world is a large breathing organism where you can do what you want as long as you are ready to take the consequences. If you have read this, i would like for you to write your least favourite movie/book in the application. The campaign I run a heavily homebrewed campaign where a lot of changes to major and minor rules has been changed. I have done this to create a more immersive, gritty and realistic feeling for both me and the players. The games i run are based off of what i believe to be realistic. Thusly some rules will apply in some situations whilst in others they won't. I do this because i do not think that a certain rule can be applied in all situations. Even though i do these rulings it is always possible to have a conversation about it, for example if i believe that X should happen while you believe Y should happen you should ALWAYS voice your opinion. Storytelling and roleplaying is a great part of my games. I reward players for this in multiple ways. One reward is that if you describe your actions well enough you will circumvent having to roll an ability check, or at least lower the DC of the check. I do run quite the mechanical game i would say, but again it is greatly aided by what is stated above. Even though i ask for a lot of checks at times it will also be driven by what i believe to be necessary in the situation. Thusly, sometimes you won't have to make a single check whilst in other times you might have to make plenty. The world you are in has been developed over 3 years, it has had multiple campaigns ran in different regions of the world but some parts are still untouched. There are a lot of lore to it since i myself am a lorewhore. If anybody wishes to read more about the world, you have some information here; http://gael.wikia.com/wiki/Gael_Wiki Times; We are currently running the campaign, a few sessions in; We play Saturdays at 8:30 AM EST, or 14:30 CET If enough people would be interested in starting a new game I would be avaliable in EUROPEAN times. In the evenings on ALL weekdays. The start time would be 18 or 19 PM CET If you can't make the timeslot of the running game and wish to participate in a new game during the weekdays EUROPEAN times, then go here; https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/78307/arc-one-spawn-of-darkness You; The amount of experience does not matter. If you are inexperienced i will help and guide you so that you will be experienced enough before my game starts. Polite Punctual Has access to a mic AND a camera Mature Talkative Must like to write/talk about a character, to flesh the character out both before and during the game The application Now, if you have stayed with me till the bottom i would love for you to write me an application. The application should be written here in the post and then i will contact you! What i want to be contained in the application; Your name and age Your experience (if you have any) with TTRPG games, and what your favourite system is If you have experience with roleplaying from other sources, such as forum RPing or larping. Tell me why you are interested about this game in particular, and not another one Tell me about why you like, or think you would like, to play TTRPG games Write the numbers of what times you would be avaliable on I do not wish for you to give me a character pitch in your application, simply because you do not know the world nor do you have any lore to base your character on. You will be granted a lot of lore so that you can start making your character the moment you are accepted to the next stage of the draft! I will help you along the way as much as i am allowed to because i love create indepth characters. Thank you, a lot, for reading to this point! If you, just as i, want to have an epic story to tell in the future then i hope to see you in the campaign!
