[LFG] [D&D 5E] Veteran Player looking for a long-term group!

Hey all, I'm looking to get back into tabletop on my weekends when I can; and spent some time brushing up on 5E since it seems like a pretty neat system now that I gave it a chance. I'm a nigh 20-year veteran of Dungeons and Dragons, having played at least one game in every edition since AD&D save 4E, and then nearly every major spinoff game as well - Call of Cthulhu, D20 Modern/Future, Pathfinder, Mutants and Masterminds, Star Wars SAGA and probably a few other one-shots I've forgotten in the sands of time. Suffice to say: I've been around. I'm mostly looking for a lower-levelish game between 1-5 to get my feet really wet with 5E, only having done a little bit in one short game with it aside from a lot of reading of the rulebooks. My one caveat is unless I get a particularly interesting hook, I would very much like to use my ported, well-worn and comfortable character; my human fighter Rekk Ironclaw (Or Eisenkralle in more germanic settings!). So if you've got room for a zweihander-wielding, mustached and muscled Landsknecht merc with a mouth and questionable morals, but unquestionable loyalty - I'd definitely be interested in swinging by! As to my playstyle, I'm equal parts heavy roleplayer and munchkin I guess, I like a good, streamlined, optimized character that's capable and serves the story I set out to tell - Rekk up above, is a Battle-Master Fighter with a Zweihander and Pole-Arm Master/Sentinel (Using the stats/rules for a Halberd for the Zweihander, which is purely cosmetic because flavor) because he's based on a Landsknecht mercenary from 16th century Germany with a High Fantasy/Sword and Sorcery twist. The optimized, niche build compliments the character because if he wasn't good at what he did, he wouldn't get paid! I love long roleplaying sessions in addition to good, faster-paced combat - a staple of 5E anyways, and my favorite groups are ones where inter-party relationships and bonds are a major focus. Hell, in previous games Rekk's my only character who's gotten married and had children  so I'm all in for the deep dive. But don't let me pigeonhole myself too much! I've plenty of other character ideas and I'm eager to flex my creative muscles in my days outside the machine shop again, Grizzled and seasoned half-orc everyman Barbarian, traveling the land attempting to bring order and civilization to his warlike brethren, to throw off the yoke of war? A creepy, pale at-odds Gnoll Monk, brought low by a traveling ascetic who then against his will, taught him to fight the Call of Yennegou by seeking inner peace? A sharp-tongued, badass with a heart of gold Tiefling Rogue and Blacksmith who's well known as the town black sheep and embraced it, yet will throw it all away for a friend without missing a beat? A quiet, bookish Wizard whom seems at odds with the raw power of the arcane he wields so effortlessly, yet shies from battle and power and only seeks to use his magic to teach those less fortunate? Let me weave stories in your world, it'll be a great time for all! EDIT: Forgot times! I'm looking for Friday or Saturdays preferably, sometime between 6 and 7 P.M. Eastern starting time!
Hi Jadon! I would love for you to join my group and campaign. The campaign has just finished its session zero so it would fit perfectly with your wish to start a campaign from the lower levels. If you would like to know more send me a pm or message me on discord. Tee#1705
