Hello, my name is VJ. I've been an avid roleplayer for over 5 years tabletop and many more years in terms of CRPGs and MMOs. I played the original Everquest, various versions of Final Fantasy, and occasionally still play a Space Ninja on Warframe. I also played/still play by post an RPG system known as MURPG which provides a model to play your own custom super heroes. My tabletop RPG experiences include D&D 3.0, 3.5, Legend of 5 Rings: Rokugan, Star Wars, Mekton, and Pathfinder. I enjoyed playing face to face the most but since moving out of state from my last gaming group I had to settle for MMOs. Thankfully I recently found Roll20 and thus have found a new platform to resume the 'tabletop' experience. What Am I Looking For?: A D&D 5th Edition or Pathfinder game in the Evenings, preferably a Wednesday Slot. My time zone is Eastern Standard Time. I am looking for a consistent group that meets for game sessions once per week. I prefer Long-Term campaigns and groups of 3 to 6. I have done a solo campaign before but prefer groups. What Am I Looking For In a DM?: I am looking for a DM who is consistent, imaginative, and fair. I would like a DM who shows up prepared but not afraid to improvise to suit the occasion if the players surprise her. I enjoy both combat and RP. I enjoy deep characterization and interaction with cool NPCs as well as the PCs. I would like a DM who permits the player to diversify and build as they please within the rules from a wide variety of sources. I'd like a DM who gives fair expectations of what to expect and doesn't nerf unexpectedly in hindsight but instead finds a way to work with the player. I would like a DM who knows how to give the players the sense of playing an epic role in an epic world, knows how to set challenges, and how to give each character their chance to shine without getting hogged by any particular player. What Am I looking For in other players: I'd like to play with others who can consistently show up for the agreed upon time slot. Players who are unselfish and enjoy playing with others rather than just gaming for self-satisfaction. Players who know how to share the spotlight and how to play as a team to overcome challenges. Players who are smart and enjoy each other's company and help to make each session unique and fun. Players who like to think outside the box and also tend to act to find advantages in a situation rather than plunging in headfirst regardless of the situation and endangering others. What Do You Get Out of Me As a Player?: I will consistently appear for sessions once a time is locked down. If I can't make the session for RL reasons, I will give advanced notice to the DM/other players. I love to rise to challenges. I enjoy building complex and flexible characters. I enjoy roleplaying back and forth, solving challenges either through cleverness, diplomacy, trickery, or force of might/magic. I enjoy epic/memorable combats/encounters. What Do I Like To Play?: I enjoy playing nonhumans, and nonstandard races when possible. Since I'm playing a fantasy I'd rather play an extremely fantastic character! Variety is the spice of life! I like to mix and match classes when feasible. The possibilities are endless! I've played everything from a psychic warrior/fighter/barbarian who dealt insane charging damage to a psion/wizard who could as easily remove your brain from its casing as disintegrate you into a pile of ashes.
