The people behind the characters

Hi all, This is just an idea as more of a fat penguin for the new folks.  Please share any info if you want :) I'm Mike the player behind Artuar, I've been playing dnd as we are now for a few years, but my first introduction was way back playing Baldurs Gate.  My biggest experience would be playing NWN online (not the MMO) which i did for years on an rp server.  I've been playing dnd with Ant and Sam for a number of years now where we made terrible memories of "lightning shuriken wielding velociraptors" and a npc cleric more useless than a magic eight-ball. Other hobbies I have are gaming in general (just got to playing horizon zero dawn, what took me so long!)  Look forward to seeing you in game again!  Oh btw, my charter Artuar kept an in character journal to keep track of events which players can have a look at, needs updating when I figure out what is going on.

I admit, I had to google fat penguin. Anywho, I'm Jan, the player behind Otto. I may be German, but my sense of humor isn't quite as nonexistent as some stereotypes might have you believe. Hopefully. I discovered roll20 and DnD ~3 years ago at the humble age of 24 and went a bit overboard with it for a while (check my roll20 achievements, yo). At this point I've played pretty much everything, and DM'ed a whole bunch more. So playing weird multiclasses and perpetually redesigning my own homebrew world, without letting anyone ever see it, are where its at for me these days. When I'm not rolling the dice I also play video games (gasp) and procrastinate finishing up my term paper (due date is next week though, so... shit, look at me writing a post on roll20). I am of course studying something to do with engineering in case you wondered. I do space stuff. Alright, I'm off to the library, wish me luck!

Hi there everyone, I'm John, i'm 32 and currently studying Ancient and Medieval History at University as a mature student. (I also have a two year old daughter) I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons for roughly twenty years now, beginning with 2 nd Edition (including numerous PC games such as the Baldurs Gate series, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights, etc), and additionally have been playing 5E since its release. I have DM'd for some IRL friends before, in a campaign based in the Sword Coast, (since I love me some forgotten realms), and have read a lot of, but not all novels by R A Salvatore, in relation to the D&D world. My favourite locale is probably the Underdark, though I must admit I miss the 2 nd edition rules for Drow, since they've lost a bit of their flair in 5 th in my opinion :p . I'm also heavily into creative writing and actively participate on an online writing/Roleplaying community website, a hobby i've been pursuing for about two decades now, to the point I just wrote my dissertation on the innovation of war-machines in antiquity. (Because catapults lol) Sadly I too am a victim of the video-game addiction, mainly playing PC games (normally MMO's), so have tried everything from Eve Online to World of Warcraft, and all that dwells in the depths between. (I even once delved into D&D Online, though that's set in Eberron so is weird lol).
Hey guys, I'm Adam, I'm from Scotland, I'm 19 years cold  and currently studying Software engineering in my 2nd year at university  I have only recently started playing Dungeons and dragons with my interest being peaked by online shows, namely heroes and halfwits and critical role. I have DM'd two sessions of Hoard of the dragon queen for some friends IRL that i had a lot of fun with but i wanted to be able to play a character myself (thus i joined this delightful group). I'm not very familiar with forgotten realms as a setting but i'm enjoying what I've seen  so far and I'm looking forward to what the campaign brings us. I Feel like I'm sensing a pattern here haha but i also enjoy video-games, i play everything from strategy to battle royale to isometric RPGs anything that allows me to escape reality for a few hours. I also love to problem solve so anything that makes me feel intelligent goes right in my good book.
Hello all, I am Sam, the player behind Dellavorn; an alcoholic, convinced of his own superiority and whose value system is predominately defined by his intellect. (Wait, am I supposed to be introducing myself or my character...) I am 29 and enjoy long walks along the beach slaying orcs. I have virtually no DnD experience; I played with Mike and Ant many eons ago - I far more enjoy the role playing (hey, who doesn't enjoy role play?) than the maths, statistics and "is this canon" side of things. As such, I do not care about the "previously on" sword coast histories and whether drow can even exist in this time line or whatever the debates are - just tell me a good yarn and I am all aboard! A such I am a huge fan of critical roll! I am a PhD student at Cardiff Uni, where I study Old Norse (Vikings) and even run my own IRL campaign now with some people here. I assure you it would give the seasoned veterans among you a stroke to see the game as run by me, but I thoroughly enjoy it nonetheless! Alas, my various voices all come out camp German...sorry Jan... I too, enjoy video games...mostly because real life is far too dull and involves tax returns and deadlines. Why am I not a hero prophesied of old? That sums me up; Gamer, Scholar, Gentleman! (oh did I mention I was humble?)
