Game Recap [For guiding hand to work, you have to give me an exact name of a landmark that the party finds through whatever means that has been mapped. This is unearthed arcana, so I’m going to rule that the hand is always going to mark where it has been mapped to be.] You all spend a fantastic night in Umbaroth. You have a loft on 4th story building made of marble. The top floor has a swimming pool, pond, exotic animals (for sale at an exorbitant price if Asher really wants one [they all cost 2000 gold and have about 4 hit points]). You have servants to wait on you and give you every desire. Gillia seems at home, and very happy. Thokoli seems contented, but a little nervous. He keeps trying to help the servants with the jobs which makes them nervous. The servants take Thokoli’s gestures as an insult. Thokoli never can seem to make himself comfortable. With a full staff and 8 hours, Cuch gets some excellent attention. He’s loving bardman at his moment (assuming bardman is the only one who actually feeds him). Conversely, the staff love Cuch. They are constantly complimenting the group on their excellently trained “beast”. Bardman spends 4 hours, 2 at night and 2 in the morning training Cuch. The resort, “the Sand’s Flat Resort” has an on staff beast trainer and caretaker name Kamine. Kamine is a gruff older halfling missing an arm who works with Cuch and Bardman. Asher asks Cakaza about the women they met in the desert while traveling. Cakaza tells them they were werelions. According to him, there are half a dozen known prides of werelions in Umbaroth who travel about their territories in search of food. They aren’t openly aggressive to outsiders, only those who would attack them or the other werelion prides. Sometimes they will approach travelers and ask for food, those offering some over are provided safe passage. At some point in the morning, there was a knock as the door and a dozen platemail-clad dragonknights were outside their room with one, Knight Sergeant Anwar el-Fares, entering and asking for Helios, Nikon, Alaise, and Bardman (using the name bardman went by when he was first captured by Corrive). Apparently, the local CO Knight Commander Khaleel al-Hussain was a former classmate and now friend of Jendra Faine, and wanted to meet with Alaise. The knights were impressed with the resort room and suggested they go get the commander instead of taking the party to him. Two knight initiates stayed behind talking to the party. When Alaise told them what he did in Corrive, they seemed a bit frightened of him. When Knight Commander Khaleel al-Hussain arrived he asked when Alaise was going to join the Dragon Knights, and Alaise seemed pretty non-committal. Khaleel offered to send an escort with the party to Kaleth in return for a favor, he wanted them to deliver a message to his brother Taamir al-Hussain in the city of Tyrnalaia just inside of Kaleth. They agreed. He said if they succeeded in their mission for him and came back through to look him up and he’d give them a reward, not that it looks like they need the money. They party traveled to Kaleth. As you all travel to the north, the sand gives way to dirt, which gives way to swamp, and you see more and more trees in just a couple hours journey. There are mountains off to the east, rising up along with cliff faces, blocking off this part of the terrain from the south. You still feel the warmth of the desert, but it is less dry and you begin to sweat more. The further you travel along, the more you feel this heat in the air itself. The first night the party doubled up on watches with Helios/Asher taking the first watch, then Gillia/Alaise taking the second watch and Thokoli/Bardman taking the third. They noticed some creatures outside of the leomund’s tiny hut (really a sphere), plants were slowly surrounding the dome. They let everyone get a rest, then unleashed their escape plan. Helios cast fly on himself and flew into the air, flying south and drawing them away. Meanwhile the rest fled with bardman conjuring 4 crocodiles to keep the shambling plant-monsters occupied. The group successfully escaped.
