Pulsating/Flickering light sources.

From what I understand and what I've read, it would take less than 200 lines of code to make at least a simple version of this implementable into the game. While I know absolutely nothing about API and very little about coding in general, I would absolutely love to be able to put the finishing touches on a creepy or ominous atmosphere with torch on the opposite wall barely throwing light to the edges of a corridor or cave, only to have it flash brighter, and die down again. But, seeing as I don't even know where to open the API script doohickamajigger, I guess I can't judge how hard it would be, though I would love to commission someone to make it possible and easy-ish to use.

I've tried this before, using a timer and by randomly adjusting light sources. The frame rate of animation is too slow to make it a convincing effect, in my opinion.

Meh, I really only want a non-static light-source, I'm not looking too far into realism. Just something that moves ;_; Thanks for the input, though. And thanks for the move, Guass.
the only way to make it seem like a flickering light is to have three tokens all offset in time with varying radiuses. does work, but it isn't very good

This would be more of a job for the FX stuff that Riley started to add, like the fire balls. The API was never intended to be used for things like Animation, not saying some sort of animation couldnt be controlled by the API just that animation would need to be added to roll20 first.

I'd be all for commissioning or sponsoring it, assuming it didn't get too expensive. Broke college student, and all. Edit: Commissioning someone taking the time to develop it for roll20*
This thread needs to be moved back to Suggestions since the API is not a valid place to discuss the animation of light sources.
