New with some n00b questions.

Hey, folks. So I'll be starting my very first roll20 campaign very soon. There are some things about the system I was wondering about. Very basic stuff, it seems. 1. How do I get other people's player characters on the board to start where I want them? 2. How do I move characters "instantly" from one area of my map to the next? 3. How do I add characters to a specific area of a "new" map when I change the players over? 4. How are character sheets normally handled? Apparently I have no idea what I'm doing. I've watched the introductory video and read the wiki as much as I could but danged if this isn't daunting for me.

As a GM you drop images that you want to represent your PCs on the Token layer. You can position these however you want. Once your players join your campaign, their user names will be available to assign to tokens. You need to go to a token's settings to assign "controlled by" to whomever player that token is suppose to represent. See: https://wiki.roll20.net/Token_Features for more info. When you want to add PCs to a new page (map), you can do this in two ways. If you link a PCs token to their character journal, you can drag the character journal to the tabletop to instantly add a new copy of that Token on the new page. You can also select all your tokens. Copy them and then paste them to the new page. Character sheets are best handled in a separate document, either on a PDF or Google Document or on a character sheet database like Obsidian Portal or Myth Weavers. Carry over the commonly used attributes and roll formulas from a character sheet to a Roll20 character journal for macro handling.
I would suggest going to the wiki page (link in the tabs at the top) and checking out the getting started video. The text transcript is provided as well. Additionally, here is a link for a good character sheet/handouts tutorial posted by another user earlier today. The video is pre rugged reroll, but still very good. Those two things will probably help you a lot. Character Sheets and Handouts
Rob M. Had you read my post you would see that I've already done that.
:) Welcome.
