Insane Lag

Iv'e been using Roll20 for some time, and I know that over time as you add more stuff the game will inevetably lag, but this is way too much, and Iv'e been deleting and archiving things left and right using only what is necesary for the given session, but it is still horrible and seems like its getting worse as I delete stuff. This is becoming a huge problem and I'm considering leaving roll20 given how much effort I'm having to put in including paying for a pro subscription and supporting the website in other ways, but this is way to unusable and feels like a waste of time, if all i can do is use 1 pre-rendered map and use a different website for character sheets.

Can you describe the lag more? Is it when you click on a field in a character sheet to edit it? Or is it something else?

To add to Scott's inquiry, does it only happen with one game?  Does it happen in both FF and Chrome?

Also, if you are archiving characters, this will not reduce their overhead. They need to be transmogrified to a separate game or placed in the Character Vault, and the local copies deleted. It's a pain, I wish you could truly archive  character.
Sorry for the late reply, Scott C. - The lag happens anytime I scroll through the chat log or through my macros, also anytime i change the view on the field. Vince - It happens with my main game and I created a brand new game with only the character sheets and it happens again here. Keithcurtis - I created a third game without the character sheets and it has less lag but the lag is still there and is a little tough to work around. If I have to i can use the service without Character sheets and use Dicecloud for the sheets, but it is a inconvenience, and It makes making monsters a pain in the behind.

Does it happen in both FF and Chrome?  Which rpg/sheet?
I use a Macbook Pro for my DM screen, so those haven't been used yet. I'll try those really quick and see if that makes it better.
It works really well on Firefox, that should save me the pains of remaking everything, thanks for the responses, everyone.
